Roxx Records Reveal REIGN OF GLORY Debut Album Details:

Press Release / In April Roxx Records announced the signing of a brand new super group coming together. That band was and is REIGN OF GLORY, and we are very excited to finally be able to release more details about this project with you today.
REIGN OF GLORY is a brand new hard rock/metal band featuring Robyn Kyle Basauri (RED SEA, DIE HAPPY, JAGUAR) on vocals, Roger Dale Martin (VENGEANCE RISING, ONCE DEAD, DIE HAPPY, TRIPLE ACE BAND) on bass, Nick Layton(FIREWOLFE, Q5) on guitars and the one and only Jim Chaffin (THE CRUCIFIED, DELIVERANCE, THE BLAMED) on drums.
The bands debut album will be titled All Will Bow and features stunning new artwork with a beautiful cover illustration by David Edgar, and an elaborate cover design and layout by Scott Waters. The debut single is now being serviced to radio and we are pleased to world premiere the new lyric video for the bands first single “Welcome to Reality” a poignant hard rocker that really hits home both lyrically and musically.
Pre orders will launch in July with a release date planned for August 12th on digital and CD, with a very limited vinyl release in October.

STRYPER Release New Single, “Rise To The Call”:

Openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER have released a new single and lyric video, "Rise To The Call". The song is taken from their upcoming album, which is set for release later this year via Frontiers Music Srl. The follow-up to 2020's Even The Devil Believes was produced by guitarist/vocalist Michael Sweet and was once again recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Sweet commented: "Although we have faced many obstacles over the past few years, we were somehow able to rise above everything that stood in our way and deliver (what I believe to be) our strongest release to date. Our new album encompasses everything that defines who we are: faith, guitar power, melodies and harmonies, consistency and longevity.
We still have so much left to say musically and lyrically and this album showcases that. We couldn't do it without the fans worldwide. Those who have stood by us through it all, for almost 40 years! We're so honored and blessed to be able to release our 14th studio album and to be making the best music of our lives/careers. Against all odds, we're still here."
This past January, the 58-year-old Sweet, who recently underwent surgery for a re-detached retina, said that he was "more concerned with the state of our world" as he continued to work on lyrics for the band's upcoming 14th studio LP. At the time, he wrote on his social media: "I'll be honest. I'm a little nervous about the new album. Not the music itself but more so the process.
"We're obviously not operating at 100%," he continued. "Oz (Fox, STRYPER guitarist) lost the hearing in his left ear and I've lost my vision (hopefully and prayerfully short term) in my right eye. We'll be working this way and it's certainly a first. How will it affect our performances? Not much. It most likely will take a little longer to get what we want but maybe not. We'll have to see how that goes.
"I'm also at that place where I'm more concerned with the state of our world. I'm concerned about what I see on the news. Is it just me or does it feel as though we're in a much darker place these days? Our country, our world. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels as though darkness is overtaking the light. People seem much colder and more concerned about themselves than they do others. There are some good people out there but times are definitely changing sadly.
"So, as I've been facedown I've been writing lyrics and although there are some straight up songs about love, there's more of a take on the state of this world with lyrics that definitely address that," Sweet added. "Maybe, just maybe this album will shed a little light into and onto some dark areas. That's always my goal and always my desire. To help, not to hurt. To heal, not to damage. This is my intention with every song I write."
In December, Sweet stated about the musical direction of STRYPER's new material: "Lots of riffs, grooves, up tempo and mid tempo and everything has a great feel to it. I've only sent music to the guys so they haven't heard any melodies yet but the melodies are strong and powerful.
"It's always a little strange talking about your own music but I can say that I'm really excited about the direction of this album! I know you will be too. We've tuned down to D so the tuning makes it all sound a little fatter and heavier. There are a few songs with the low E string dropped down another step (C) so those songs have a bit more meat and potato's as well;-) There are a few ballads but they're not your typical 'piano' or 'acoustic' ballads. They're heavy as well and definitely guitar driven.
"Even though there have been obstacles along the way, this album really has shaped up to be an amazing piece of work," Sweet added. "We're a long way out but man, I can't wait for all of you to hear this!!"
In March 2021, Fox underwent the first of his brain surgeries to treat one of the tumors that were found in his head more nearly four years ago. That same month, STRYPER and Frontiers Music Srl announced that they have extended their working relationship for the release of more new studio albums together.
STRYPER and Frontiers originally joined forces in 2013 for the release of Second Coming, an album comprised of new recordings of 14 songs from the band's early years, as well as two brand new songs. What followed has been a string of critically and commercially successful studio albums, including No More Hell To Pay (2013), Fallen (2015),God Damn Evil (2018) and Even The Devil Believes (2020). Additionally, a live album and long-form video, Live At The Whisky (2014) was made available. Every one of the albums released on Frontiers in the past nine years has successfully charted on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Hot 100, Rock, Hard Rock, Current and Christian Music album charts.
STRYPER is one of the most well known metal bands to emerge from the fertile '80s metal renaissance over three decades ago. The band first landed on the global scene in 1984 and and is responsible for such classic '80s metal albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With The Devil and In God We Trust and hit singles/videos such as "Calling On You", "Free" and "Honestly". To date, the band has sold upwards of eight million records worldwide and is a Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee. STRYPER was also the first band to have two songs in MTV's "Top 10 Video Countdown" simultaneously.
After being on a hiatus for much of the '90s, STRYPER returned stronger than ever in the early 21st century. Musically, the band has progressed and grown their fan base steadily and continuously, being one of the few "classic" metal bands of the '80s that managed to keep themselves front and center thanks to the consistency of their musical output.

ANGELIC FORCES Release Debut Single, “Arise”:
Press Release / ANGELIC FORCES signed a deal with No Dust Records for the December of 2022 release to its long awaited full-length debut album, Arise. Look for Arise to be available on CD and vinyl.
The self-titled debut single off the album can be streamed above.
ANGELIC FORCES is a heavy metal band from the Netherlands strongly influenced by the 80’s metal scene, but with their own special sound. Founded in 2015 by bassist Wilco van der Meij (METHUSALEM), the group rounded out its lineup drummer Rudie Kingma, singer Harold de Vries (former METHUSALEM) and guitarist Maurice Gijsman (former L.S.D.). The Angelic Forces moniker was decided upon because it is a good fit for the style of music the band plays.
The first single from ANGELIC FORCES traces to June of 2016, which received positive reaction worldwide. An independently released three song-self titled EP followed in 2018 received both great reviews and worldwide attention from online magazines, radio shows and podcasts.

Beware The Knight, The Complete Works Of KNIGHTRIOT Re-issue On Arkeyn Steel Records:

Press Release / Originally from Phoenix, AZ, the band would take its first shape back in 1985 under the name NYTRO. They would soon move to Los Angeles, changing their name to KNIGHTRIOT. The LA Heavy Metal scene was huge at the time and the band started to generate a good name after several gigs in popular clubs around West Hollywood (The Troubadour, The Whiskey A GoGo, The Roxy etc).
KNIGHTRIOT released their debut Speak No Evil demo back in 1989. The solid, straight in the face heavy metal and the Christian oriented lyrics were the two main features that actually formed the band’s overall trademark. Someone can realize all that by hearing only the first notes of the hymn “Holy Avenger” included in this tape.
Their classic second demo tape came out one year later, in 1990. Beware The Knight is obviously a well worshiped release by the Christian Metal fanatics. Anthems like “The Sacred Legend”, “Beware The Knight” and of course “Serve Thy Master” are all included in here. KNIGHTRIOT’s third and final Killing Time demo was released in 1992 including remarkable songs like “The Second Coming”.
Since the band’s split back in 1993, people mainly focused on the Christian Metal underground kept on searching for those three tapes. As years were passing by, many more Metal fans and collectors worldwide started to discover the music of this great heavy metal band from LA. It was starting to become obvious that an official reissue of KNIGHTRIOT’s music was needed.
Arkeyn Steel Records team managed to track down the founding members, brothers Danny and Jeffrey James (bass and vocals) in order to set up a reissue of the complete KNIGHTRIOT recordings.
All the audio has been re-mastered from scratch from the original demo tapes by Kostas Scandalis at Infinity studio, Thessaloniki. Lyrics and a lot of unreleased photos are shaping a 12-page booklet also including an in depth band biography written by Danny James himself. The overall artwork has been designed by Kostas Athanasoglou, including a new expanded version of the epic front cover of the second demo.
Melodic and riff based, ala ARMORED SAINT and SWORD, the heavy metal of KNIGHTRIOT takes no prisoners. For the Christian Metal fanatics it is a must addition next to similar sounding bands like CROSS, BLOODGOOD, FINAL AXE and SAINT.
On the Second Coming, the Holy Avenger will strike! Beware!

SIGNUM REGIS Release New Live Album, Made In Switzerland:

Press Release / The melodic metal band SIGNUM REGIS just released their first live album entitled Made In Switzerland on CD and digital via Beyond the Storm Productions. The album was recorded in Wiedlisbach, Switzerland last year and was mastered by Tony Lindgren (AMORPHIS, DRAGONFORCE, POWERWOLF).
The band also just released a new live video (above) for "Through the Desert, Through the Storm" taken from their 2015 EP "Through the Storm". The song was featured in the HBO series "The Righteous Gemstones" earlier this year.
As noted by bassist Ronnie König:
“If I had to say something about this album in one sentence, I would say this: We came to the venue to play a regular show and we came back with an album. There was no special preparation or long planning for this live album. The show was recorded in 2021 in Switzerland, which was the peak year of the Covid pandemic. Of course, we were hoping that we could record some nice audio and perhaps also a video from the show, so that we could post some clips to social media.
“We wanted the fans to have a chance to see at least something during the year when the opportunities to play and see us live were very, very limited. Luckily the soundboard had a built-in hard drive recording, audio turned out better than expected, we got all tracks separately in high resolution, so we decided to do some mixing and post production. It went from mixing one song to mixing the whole show to releasing it as a live album.”

ANTIOCH, Spontaneous Combustion Demo Re-issue On Roxx Records:

Press Release / Roxx Records is at it yet again, this time we unearthed another gem from days gone by, and have been able to connect the band and bring some amazing music back to life. This time the music comes from the state of Washington, this band was formed in the town of North Bend, Washington, which is 30 miles east of Seattle. This band was first contrived way back in February 1984 and consisted of a pair of best friends, by way of Roger Cleven (guitar) and Monty Wright (keyboards). They had previously played in bands and each decided, on their own, to approach the other about starting a band which would share and spread God’s word. Looking through a Bible dictionary brought up many possibilities for the new, unnamed band. After choosing a list of 10 possibilities, they decided on ANTIOCH. They liked the fact it was the location where believers were first called Christians.
Next was the search for other band members. Friend and former band mate, Russ Wentz, was invited to play drums. Not having any success in finding a bass player, a young friend, Brian Anderson, showed interest in learning. He turned out to be a natural and picked up the instrument rather quickly. Shortly after, Russ decided to leave the band. Enter Tony. He was a high school friend and a very skilled drummer in his own right.
During a Dance of Joy event, a place for Christian teens and young adults to meet and socialize in Bellevue, Washington, Roger and Monty started a conversation with the guy running the lights for the evening. His name was Paul Racey. It turned out he could sing and play guitar. He came to the next band rehearsal to audition and was immediately invited to join after proving his very impressive guitar skill
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond his control, Brian had to leave the band. The guys decided to ask a friend, Jim Freeman, if he would be willing to put the guitar down and play bass for the band. He accepted. Unexpected and surprisingly in early 1986, Monty decided to leave the band to pursue other interests. Up until that time, ANTIOCH had been more of a pop rock band, but when Monty left, the band decided to take on a harder edged sound without keyboards.
Towards the summer of 1987, ANTIOCH was invited back for a second time to appear on Northwest Saturday Night on radio station, KCMS with host, Lynette Morgan. On the first visit, their demo of four songs was featured. For the second visit it was decided to record an album that could be featured on air. This interview is included as a bonus track on this reissue. The album was named Spontaneous Combustion and was only available on cassette. Several tracks were featured on Eternal Rock Countdown throughout the year, which included another interview, but this time with host, Keith Black. This demo tape was also sold at concerts, Christian book stores and through mail order all over the world, and has been long sold out and not in print since. A couple videos were made for “Didn’t Anybody Say…” and “Let it Flow”. They were shown at the Dance of Joy and on a local Christian music station called The Rock, with an in studio interview.
In 1988, the band was left without a bass player when Jim decided to leave. During that time a couple different guys would sit in with the band for concerts. A couple highlight shows included opening for the DARRELL MANSFIELD BAND.
In 1989, Paul decided he wanted to pursue other musical interests and Roger decided to go back to school to finish his college degree. However, after a few months a promoter contacted Roger inquiring of the band. It was decided to accept the offer and have an official last performance. This was in Spokane, Washington at a club for young adults. First bassist, Brian, agreed to play the bands final performance, or was it?
Once again, in 1991 a different promoter asked if the band would play a festival in Silverdale on Bainbridge Island. Again, the guys agreed, but this time Jim came back for bass duty. Finally, one last time in 1995, after being contacted by the band’s attorney regarding trademark protection of the band name, Roger, Paul, Brian and Russ performed a couple songs at a local church. There has been talk over several years about a reunion. In 2007; Roger, Paul, Jim, Tony and their families met up for a potluck to reminisce with photos, posters, recording, stage outfits and food. It will probably happen again one of these days, but until then the band is very excited to work with Roxx Records and release a proper anthology style release of their recorded music.
Roxx Records is very excited to produce a limited edition CD only version from ANTIOCH entitled Spontaneous Combustion just like that original 4 track demo from years ago. Spontaneous Combustion, has been completely re-mastered by Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound, and features a reworked album cover design and all new layout from Scott Waters of NoLifeTilMetal Graphics. This beautifully done CD has an 8-page booklet with all the bands lyrics and a plethora of band photos, flyers and memorabilia, as shared with us by the band.

Press Release / 2022 is set to be the return of what was one of Christian rock’s greatest acts of the nineties. This band made their public debut actually being known as LOVE LIFE, releasing an album titled Goodbye Lady Jane on Blonde Vinyl in 1991. As the band began to progress they caught the ears of well-established producers John & Dino Elefante and a new journey was about to begin. Working with the famed producers the band would change their name to FEAR NOT and release their self titled album in 1993 upon the world via Pakaderm Records. The album would garner great reviews and praise from the media and the band would begin playing shows across the US. Unfortunately, as it happens all too often, life got in the way and the band would never actually make it to release a sophomore effort, ultimately disbanding.
Fast forward to 2017 and indie label Roxx Records would search the band out and ultimately start to work on a complete redesign and rerelease of that amazing debut album. In 2017, working in conjunction with the band, that debut album would be beautifully r-emastered with enhanced artwork and reissued in a limited edition CD format and for the first time ever on limited edition vinyl. As a result, of this, those four original members of FEAR NOT would embark on a brand new journey and rekindle that band relationship and start to work on brand new music for the first time in almost 35 years. Added to the fold would be an additional vocalist working with the band by the name of Eddie Green, a seasoned touring vocalist, who previously fronted the metal band EVEN THE DOGS.
Now as a 5 piece, the band would record and release their debut music together as a beautiful new EP titled For The Wounded Heart. Five brand new tunes for the world to enjoy as this band was back and just beginning a new journey of life, music and ministry for a world that much needs it. For The Wounded Heart would get many great reviews and accolades which would spark that fire amongst the band and even get them out into the world to play shows again as a 5 piece.
It's been over 3 years since that first EP, the world had pretty much come to a stop as we dealt with a worldwide pandemic. While that worldwide downtime was going on, these guys were dealing with so much adversity in their personal lives, illness, death of loved ones, and so much more we didn’t think anything more would come to fruition. However, all along that troublesome pathway, it inspired the band, and they continued writing new music, recording new music and slowly building a brand new full-length release to share with this world. And now 2022 will finally see the release of the much anticipated new full-length album from the legendary FEAR NOT.
FEAR NOT are set to embark on a new musical journey with the release of their sophomore full length album entitled Fields Of Sorrow. Fields Of Sorrow takes the listener on a heavy and heartfelt journey with the band as they prepare to release this full length album of all new music with meaning. Song comes off the groups upcoming (June 10, 2022 release date) live album Made In Switzerland. The album was recorded in Wiedlisbach, Switzerland last year and was mastered by Tony Lindgren (AMORPHIS, DRAGONFORCE, POWERWOLF).
As noted by bassist Ronnie König:
“If I had to say something about this album in one sentence, I would say this: We came to the venue to play a regular show and we came back with an album. There was no special preparation or long planning for this live album. The show was recorded in 2021 in Switzerland, which was the peak year of the Covid pandemic. Of course, we were hoping that we could record some nice audio and perhaps also a video from the show, so that we could post some clips to social media.
“We wanted the fans to have a chance to see at least something during the year when the opportunities to play and see us live were very, very limited. Luckily the soundboard had a built-in hard drive recording, audio turned out better than expected, we got all tracks separately in high resolution, so we decided to do some mixing and post production. It went from mixing one song to mixing the whole show to releasing it as a live album.”

Today we are going to start with the first of those two by presenting you information on this amazing Christian metal band that launched back in the mid 1980’s in the Bay area of Northern California. This band was one of the pioneers of that early scene in the Bay Area and the members would go on to participate in many other bands throughout their careers, including CROSSFORCE, VALOR and more! Michael Sweet of openly Christian rockers STRYPER has shared a snippet of another song that will appear on the band's next album.
The 58-year-old guitarist/vocalist, who recently underwent surgery for a re-detached retina, took to his Instagram on Monday (May 2) to post a 43-second video from the studio, and he included the following message: "When we were growing up, I'd go from a BOSTON album to a JUDAS PRIEST album to a JOURNEY album, to you name it.
"I'm a metalhead but I'm also a balladeer. And I'm not ashamed of that. I love a good ballad every now and then. This is a small piece of a new STRYPER ballad called “Near”. There’s no syrup on top, only powered (or power) sugar. Hear the whole song on the new STRYPER album coming this fall. For now, here’s a little taste. We're bringing back the power ballad with this one"
STRYPER's follow-up to 2020's Even The Devil Believes LP was once again recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.
This past January, Sweet said that he was “more concerned with the state of our world” as he continued to work on lyrics for the band's upcoming 14th studio LP. At the time, he wrote on his social media: “I'll be honest. I'm a little nervous about the new album. Not the music itself but more so the process.
"We're obviously not operating at 100%," he continued. "Oz (Fox, STRYPER guitarist) lost the hearing in his left ear and I've lost my vision (hopefully and prayerfully short term) in my right eye. We'll be working this way and it's certainly a first. How will it affect our performances? Not much. It most likely will take a little longer to get what we want but maybe not. We'll have to see how that goes.
"I'm also at that place where I'm more concerned with the state of our world. I'm concerned about what I see on the news. Is it just me or does it feel as though we're in a much darker place these days? Our country, our world. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels as though darkness is overtaking the light. People seem much colder and more concerned about themselves than they do others. There are some good people out there but times are definitely changing sadly.
"So, as I've been facedown I've been writing lyrics and although there are some straight up songs about love, there's more of a take on the state of this world with lyrics that definitely address that," Sweet added. "Maybe, just maybe this album will shed a little light into and onto some dark areas. That's always my goal and always my desire. To help, not to hurt. To heal, not to damage. This is my intention with every song I write.
"Anyway - we appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we embark on what will be our 14th studio album and I really believe that this one has the very strong potential to be our best. I don't say that lightly. I would never say it if I didn't believe it.
"I hope to see you all at a STRYPER show in the very near future. It's been way too long…
"May God Bless you all".
In December, Sweet stated about the musical direction of STRYPER's new material: "Lots of riffs, grooves, up tempo and mid tempo and everything has a great feel to it. I've only sent music to the guys so they haven't heard any melodies yet but the melodies are strong and powerful.
"It's always a little strange talking about your own music but I can say that I'm really excited about the direction of this album! I know you will be too. We've tuned down to D so the tuning makes it all sound a little fatter and heavier. There are a few songs with the low E string dropped down another step (C) so those songs have a bit more meat and potato's as well;-) There are a few ballads but they're not your typical 'piano' or 'acoustic' ballads. They're heavy as well and definitely guitar driven.
"Even though there have been obstacles along the way, this album really has shaped up to be an amazing piece of work," Sweet added. "We're a long way out but man, I can't wait for all of you to hear this!"
In March 2021, Fox underwent the first of his brain surgeries to treat one of the tumors that were found in his head more nearly four years ago. That same month, STRYPER and Frontiers Music Srl announced that they have extended their working relationship for the release of more new studio albums together.
STRYPER and Frontiers originally joined forces in 2013 for the release of Second Coming, an album comprised of new recordings of 14 songs from the band's early years, as well as two brand new songs. What followed has been a string of critically and commercially successful studio albums, including No More Hell To Pay (2013), Fallen (2015), God Damn Evil (2018) and Even The Devil Believes (2020). Additionally, a live album and long-form video, Live At The Whisky (2014) was made available. Every one of the albums released on Frontiers in the past nine years has successfully charted on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Hot 100, Rock, Hard Rock, Current and Christian Music album charts.
STRYPER is one of the most well-known metal bands to emerge from the fertile '80s metal renaissance over three decades ago. The band first landed on the global scene in 1984 and and is responsible for such classic '80s metal albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With The Devil and In God We Trust and hit singles/videos such as "Calling On You", "Free" and "Honestly". To date, the band has sold upwards of eight million records worldwide and is a Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee. STRYPER was also the first band to have two songs in MTV's "Top 10 Video Countdown" simultaneously.
After being on a hiatus for much of the '90s, STRYPER returned stronger than ever in the early 21st century. Musically, the band has progressed and grown their fan base steadily and continuously, being one of the few "classic" metal bands of the '80s that managed to keep themselves front and center thanks to the consistency of their musical output.

SILOAM is a Canadian hard rock band with a musical style and history similar in some respects to HOLY SOLDIER. The group is led by its composer and only constant member, Brian Lutes, who tells a dramatic testimony of becoming a drug addict and a teenage prostitute before finding salvation through Christ. The first incarnation of Siloam was a pop-metal band that somehow got on good terms with the Canadian government and played hundreds of concerts at public schools, where they would deliver a positive “Don’t do drugs - Stay in school” message.
The group also toured internationally and in their homeland with bands like MOTLEY CRUE, BON JOVI and VAN HALEN, and, according to Lutes, they sold some 400,000 units of their first two albums independently while remaining virtually unknown in the official Christian market. HM would be the only Christian publication to pay them any mind, giving favorable reviews to all three albums. Lyrically, Lutes’s songs all focus on the dark aspects of life- troubled homes, abuse, and the yearning for love and acceptance.

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the signing of a new hard rock super group, ICONIC, featuring Michael Sweet (guitars), Joel Hoekstra (guitars), Marco Mendoza (bass), Tommy Aldridge (drums), and Nathan James (vocals). ICONIC's debut album, "Second Skin", will be released on June 17. The official music video for the LP's first single, "Nowhere To Run", can be seen above.
Sweet, known for his work as guitarist/vocalist for the legendary heavy metal band STRYPER, and his solo work, with his instantly recognizable voice and guitar style is really a name that needs no introduction to the hard rock faithful. Hoekstra, currently of WHITESNAKE and TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, is one of hard rock's premiere guitarists, whose fretwork is regularly praised and admired. Mendoza's resume really speaks for itself (THIN LIZZY, BLACK STAR RIDERS, THE DEAD DAISIES, JOURNEY, and so on) and the legendary bassist shines, as he always does, here. Aldridge, currently of WHITESNAKE, has also played with Ozzy Osbourne, Ted Nugent and BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, among others, and is considered one of the greatest hard rock drummers of all-time. And handling lead vocals is none other than INGLORIOUS's Nathan James, a young talent whose vocal style is a fitting, proper descendent of rock's vocal legends of the '70s.
ICONIC was born from an idea conceived by Serafino Perugino, president and head of A&R for Frontiers. He wanted to surround the talents of powerhouse vocalist James with established musicians from the rock and metal world to play a musical style in the vein of classic '80s hard rock. He immediately thought of Sweet and Hoekstra for the guitars, since they have been kicking around the idea of working together for a few years. Plus, Nathan and Joel were friends from their time in TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA and Sweet had become a fan of Nathan's vocals after hearing INGLORIOUS. With the musical direction set and two wildly skilled guitar players on board, getting a powerhouse rhythm section involved was the final key ingredient and thus Mendoza and Aldridge were asked to join and brought their immense talent into the fold.
Sweet says: "This was a very refreshing and unique experience. Musically, very different from STRYPER, which is, of course, very different from all the other projects I am involved with. This is more of a throwback to the past and it felt good to do that. It reminded me of how great the music of the past really is."
He continues: "Once the songs were arranged, I booked a studio and recorded my guitar parts, which is always the funnest part for me. I'm not sure why, but I guess because I'm a guitar player first and foremost and it's just one of the most creative and fun parts of the process for me. To be able to get the right tone and play the right parts and hear it all come together... it's very rewarding."
Hoekstra states: The riffs were all very comfortable to me because I wrote most of them.
"I definitely have a great comfort level playing with Tommy Aldridge that's developed over the last eight years or so with WHITESNAKE. I've also co-written with Nathan, Michael and Alessandro in the past, so everything felt very natural despite this being a 'new' band.
"Michael asked me to write riffs without an arrangement (as he did with George Lynch on the SWEET & LYNCH records) and then he arranged them with what he had written. I wrote melodic/hard rock riffs as that was the vibe we had discussed and then all the solo parts had more to do with trying to compliment Nathan's vocal melodies and of course add a bit of fire."
James says: "I am on an album with so many of my heroes and it feels amazing, to be honest.
"I was lucky enough to be involved in the writing of a couple of songs, but genuinely everything I hear from the guys I knew I could do it justice. I also feel that the guys wrote stuff that suited my voice perfectly. These are not only great musicians, they are great songwriters. I practiced the songs a lot beforehand and then I recorded all my vocals at an amazing studio in only four afternoon sessions. I wanted to make sure it sounded like me and that my vocals had the precision that I'm so used to hearing from my vocal heroes, whom many of the guys in the band have played with. And, of course, I was very aware that I would be on songs with the vocal master that is Michael Sweet. I felt the pressure for sure, but I just did what I felt worked and I'm so happy with the final result."
Aldridge says: "It was a blast playing some fresh, new material. Rehearsing, trying out parts virtually was not as much fun as doing it live, but considering the global circumstances, I'll take it. I just try to create a supportive environment for all involved while having fun in the process. It was easy to do as these songs really play themselves. It was a true labor of love, so very little work at the end of the day."

IRON 501 features the vocal talents of Dale Thompson of BRIDE and is the brainchild of Myles Barfield.
If you are unfamiliar with IRON 501, this is one that has been a true collaboration of two very talented artists. It has been a very different approach to music for Dale and Myles both. The band wanted to highlight the men and women throughout history who have given everything for their families, communities, and countries.
Dale spent a lot of time doing research as he poured his heart and soul into these songs, as well as the hard task of choosing which stories to highlight.
Musically, it gave Myles the chance to explore an idea that he had as far back as 1980; when he thought of how to pull off a hard rock band with only a bass guitar, drummer, and singer, and as such you can really hear the heavy bass tones in this release. The only difference, or enhancement to that is the addition of a “tribal like” percussion section built around the drummer.

“I had asked Dale in April of 2020 if he wanted to do a project. First thing I did was send him a song from the XL and DBD release Beginning Of Closure to see what he thought about it. He was very impressed with the musicianship and agreed to be a part of a new project with me when time permitted in our schedules.
“Long story short, at that point in 2020 everything hit me like a ton of bricks. My equipment started fouling up on me and I just had to sit things out. It wasn’t until October 2021 that I knew I would be in a position to record again. When I knew that was gonna happen, I immediately asked Dale if he was ready and still interested in recording an album, to which he said yes. That was it, and it was off to the races for me from there, writing material and recording songs for him to sing on. We are both very excited about this project, and I personally am very happy to be working with an icon in the Christian metal scene, one I have looked up to since I was a teenager.”

“Solution”, New Official Music Video From FLAMES OF FIRE:
Press Release / FLAMES OF FIRE formed in spring of 2021 but traces to 1987 and its hometown of Jönköping, Sweden. Christian Liljegren and Mats-Åke Andersson met for the first time outside a burger chain called O’Briens. Christian was 16 at the time and front man of VENTUREAND, while Mats-Åke was 21 and guitarist and composer in legendary local band ZARAGON.
ZARAGON was active between 1984 and 1988 with a style influenced by RAINBOW, MSG, IRON MAIDEN and early EUROPE. They were close to a record deal but it fell through due to bad decisions and bad management. That said, ZARAGON did some fine recordings with Ragne & Styrbjörn Wahlqvist from HEAVY LOAD.
That meeting in 1987 had a great impact on both. It was the passion, fire and energy for the music, that really connected these hard rock & heavy metal lovers. Both watched the concerts in 1986-1987 with EUROPE and MADISON- two bands they both loved, as well as YNGWIE, MALMSTEEN’S RISING FORCE, MICHAEL SHCENKER, RITHCHIE BLACKMORE’S RAINBOW, IRON MAIDEN and ALCATRAZZ.
The meeting developed into a friendship that lasts until this day, even though the years went by and a lot happened along the way. Then 10 years later in 1997, Mats-Åke composed an intro that Christian’s new band NARNIA used for their first tour, promoting their debut album Awakening. NARNIA guitarist CJ Grimmark also helped Mats-Åke with some demos.
Every time Christian & Mats-Åke met, it was all about the musical fire, the passion and also the will to bring something more than the music. Long phone calls ended with a desire to do something together. Both still loved hard rock and heavy metal with soaring vocals and lots of twin guitars like IRON MAIDEN, THIN LIZZY. Mats-Åke had tons of ideas as did Christian.
Mats-Åke was amazed by the sound and production by Jani Stefanovic (SOLUTION .45, THE WAYMAKER and ex-DIVINEFIRE). So they asked Jani if he was willing to produce and co-wrote songs together with them, as he is a very talented songwriter, guitarist and drummer and also gifted arranging keyboards and strings.
To get the twin guitar sound, Christian suggested guitarist Stephen Carlson, who worked close with Christian on his solo album Melodic Passion as Stephenalso is a good co-writer. When searching for the right bass player, in the style Phil Lynnot and Steve Harris, they recruited Per Schelander (HOUSE OF SHAKIRA, ASTRAKHAN, ex ROYAL HUNT and PAIN OF SALVATION.
Christian came up with the band name FLAMES OF FIRE showing the passion they have as well as the spiritual dimension to it. Songs just came so naturally, and within 6-7 months they had material for several albums. Guitarist Stephen, who lives in Oppdal, Norway, recorded his parts in his studio. PerSchelander, who lives in Stockholm, tracked the bass parts there, and Christian recorded the vocals in Örebro,with NARNIA sound engineer, Viktor Stenqvist. Mats-Åke was also involved and along with Christian, heworked out the arrangements. Then Jani put everything together in his studio in Lahtis, Finland, where he lives. So it is all about explosive Scandinavian heavy metal.
FLAMES OF FIRE ’s third single and video, “Madness”, was released on March 16, 2022. The FLAMES OF FIRE self-titled debut was released on March 19th, 2022

Martin Simson’s DESTROYER OF DEATH Crowdfunding Debut Album:
Press Release / I'm Martin Simson, and Martin Simson's DESTROYER OF DEATH is a melodic metal project I founded about three years ago. I'm a long-time heavy metal fan and musician, having played bass in several local bands in Southern California during the 1980s. Four years ago I began writing music and lyrics, some of which caught the attention of guitar legend and friend, CJ Grimmark (NARNIA). Vocalist Rob Rock (IMPELLITTERI), also a mutual friend, agreed to do the lead vocals, and the debut song "Destroyer of Death" was born. To date, we've released two digital singles: "Destroyer of Death" (featuring Rob Rock) and "Master of All" (featuring Jørn Lande) - both of which are available for purchase on all major digital platforms.

In order to make a truly world-class, full-length physical album, we need to raise $16,000. The funds will be used to pay for musician and studio fees, engineering, mixing and mastering of the album, the cover artwork and CD tray/booklet layout, the production of the jewel-case CDs, a Lyric Video, and the advertising, distribution and promotion of the album.

Press Release / The idea for REIGN OF GLORY started after bassist Roger Dale Martin and guitarist Nick Layton released their instrumental album Roxology in early 2021. As powerful and well received as Roxology was and is, Roger and Nick knew they could reach even more people with a great vocalist onboard and a new album of classic hard rock/metal tunes with a message of hope and faith in these troubling times.
Nick started writing songs while the search for a vocalist began. The music was turning out melodic but heavy, groovy in places with hints of bands like WHITESNAKE, QUEENSRYCHE, TNT, DOKKEN, RAINBOW, DIO and SYMPHONY X, so the right vocalist was required to pull off the style convincingly. But who?
Roger and Nick had discussed a singer named Robyn Basauri who sang on a record Roger was involved with in 1992 called DIE HAPPY, as well as fronting RED SEA. Robyn was the kind of vocalist who’s style would fit the new music perfectly but there was a problem- no one knew how to get in touch with him. A few attempts were made to get Robyn’s contact info but nothing panned out and the feeling was that it was too much of a long shot and the idea was quickly scrapped, but then something very interesting happened.
An interview was set up by Sanctuary International Network for a podcast led by Pastor Bob Beeman. The idea was to bring the guys from DIE HAPPY together to talk about their experiences from the past.
Bingo! All of the sudden Roger and Robyn were involved in this podcast together and more importantly Roger was able to email Robyn and talk about the new project. After a few conversations and a couple songs were written, a new band was formed!
As they kept writing new material together the guys knew they had something very special happening. Currently the band is finishing up final recordings and will have the album mixed in April and ready for release this summer via Roxx Records. REIGN OF GLORY is extremely excited to bring you this heavy hitting album of superb songs, excellent musicianship, great production and an inspired message for the ages!

PETRA, Captured In Time & Space Re-issue On Girder Music:

Press Release / This Girder Records Legends of Rock release has been completely re-mastered. It comes in a jewel case with multi-page booklet insert that includes readable lyrics, photos, liner notes. It also comes with a special LTD edition collectors trading card sealed inside, limited to only the first pressing. Limited to just 400 units
PETRA left an indelible mark on teenagers all over the world throughout the 80's. Guitarist Bob Hartman (founder) and vocalist Greg X. Volz and band dropped 6 elite albums from 1979-1986. However, PETRA's Captured In Time And Space, which was released in 1986, would be the last for Greg X Volz and the end of an era as John Schlitt would join Petra as new lead vocalist latter that same year.
Usually live albums are not favorites among fans, unless of course you were privileged enough to be in the crowd (then you tell everyone you know, "I was at that show"). However, this album for so many of us left an impression not much different from the studio recordings. Everything about it was great. The sound quality is great and it contains all their top hits, a 3-song Rock Medley as well as a Mellow Medley and guitar, drum and keyboard solos, literally everything you want from a great live performance and none of the stuff you don't want.
One of the odd things about this project is that it was a combination of 3 live performances (shown below). The cassette version and DVD contained an additional song called “The Great I Am”, which came towards the end of Invitation (Track 30) that wasn't on the original 2xLP Vinyl or CD. It wasn't a great or memorable song (IMO) as it had more of a gospel music feel to it. We know that might be important to some people, so you can still hear that song on the DVD, but we were not able to alter the audio for the CD due to contract limitation with our license with Capital Christian Music.

Press Release / RESURRECTION BAND was not just one of the early founders of Christian rock and early Jesus people music, but they were also the leaders behind (JPUSA) Cornerstone Festival, which so many of us came to love and appreciate not to mention attend every single year. Those years were magical and nothing was greater than watch REZ BAND play on main stage over the 4th of July weekend. It's something we all looked forward to every single year.
RESURRECTION BAND is the most influential band in Christian music history. Rarely do you hear RESURRECTION BAND get compared to any other band. They clearly found their own sound and didn’t worry about following in the footsteps of anyone else. Glenn (vocals/guitars) and Wendy (vocals) Kaiser along with Stu Heiss (guitars), Jim Denton (bass) and John Herrin (drums) simply knew what they were after, to spread Gods' love through music and ministry. Pure unadulterated Jesus Rock at it's finest.
RESURRECTION BAND was founded in 1972, which would make 2022 their 50th anniversary. Over the years, they put out one stunningly great album after another, 18 to be exact if you count their 1973 and 1974 early promos and their 1976 demo.
Two of their greatest albums they ever released IMO were their first two full length album on a label Awaiting Your Reply (1978) and Rainbow's End (1979). These late 70s albums were a pivotal point in Christian rock music as they define a message and address topics that no one else would touch such as apartheid in South Africa. Their music resonates with fans all over the world. Some of their greatest songs (“Broken Promises”, “Waves”, “Awaiting Your Reply”, “The Return”, “Afrikaans”, “Paint A Picture” and “Skyline”) came from these two early albums, which if I had to say I could only take two albums to an island alone and listen to the for the rest of my life it would be these two. Yep that’s correct, these are my absolutely my favorite albums of anything and everything that’s ever come out and Christian rock scene.
If you have not experienced these albums before, you’re in for a real treat. If you do have history with these albums then I don't need to say anything because if you know, you know. There is nothing quite like them in the Christian market. You don’t wanna miss this chance to grab these two re-mastered releases that come with lyrics credits photos and a course we’re given a Girder treatment. They both come with trading cards, which collectors are loving. They’ve been completely re-mastered and reloaded. Faithfully restored. It’s such an honor to be able to re-issue these albums because of how much they meant to me. Thank you Capital Records.

“We work hard. We strive to do our best at the highest possible level. Always have. We made our own clothing, taped and varnished our own guitars and built and painted our own guitar cabs because we couldn’t afford to walk in a store and buy it. I know many bands went beyond the call of duty to make it happen but if they went the extra mile, we went the extra 100.
“With blood, sweat and tears we worked and saved our money to record demos and then we would shop those demos. Day after day, year after year. We did that until we finally got the attention of Enigma Records. The rest as they say is history.
“We could have continued down the path that we were on and most likely taken a much different road. One that’s broad and wide, where many have traveled. Instead, we chose a path that was very narrow, and there really were no others on that path at that time. At least doing it the way we were doing it. Singing about Jesus and going bars and clubs and bringing a little “church” with us;-)
“We got laughed at, mocked and most certainly blacklisted from quite a few places yet somehow, someway we broke out despite all the resistance. Why? Because Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Simple as that. Believe it or not, that’s the truth.
“Humbly I say that we also worked our butts off and still do. Music is in our DNA. When some folks don’t give us a chance or the time of day it can be a bit frustrating and even deflating at times. I can only guess that it’s based on our message but it’s still hard to understand at times. We’re a band who has somehow survived and miraculously, gotten stronger and better with time. At least we believe so, even if some don’t.

WE ARE RESOLUTE (W.A.R.) are now ready to bring you their sophomore full length release entitled Only Human and it is going to rock your world this year as the band pulled out all the stops to bring this one to you.
Lets rewind a minute first. W.A.R. was started by Bryan Carman and John Mokma, whom would recruit legendary vocalist Dale Thompson of BRIDE to lay down vocals on their debut album Shine The Light. Shine The Light was released in the Summer of 2020 to great reviews and was one of Roxx Records break out releases that year. Shine The Light would make many ‘Best of 2020’ lists and were # 24 for 2020 courtesy of Angelic Warlord reviews.
Now Fast Forward to 2022 and we see W.A.R. about to unleash their second offering Only Human with a little help from very influential friends. That’s right let’s start with the permanent edition of Lydia Carman, daughter of founder Bryan Carman, on keyboards. Also once again, we get the exceptional lyrics and vocals from the hardest working man in Christian Metal Dale Thompson of BRIDE. But wait, there’s more! Recruited to play bass on this album, the one and only Tracy Ferrie (STRYPER, BOSTON), and James Blackburn (actor, film scores). Over on the drums we feature Kenneth Rasmussen making his professional debut on this release, and a special guest appearance from Michael Feighan (WHITECROSS) on the drums to round it out. If that is not enough for you we have guest vocals from Chaz Bond (BIOGENESIS) and Benjamin Birdsong (THE BIRDSONGS) and last but certainly not least, Mr. Troy Thompson (BRIDE) accompanying the band on Cello.
This album is a very smooth transition from Shine The Light and highlights some of the bands greatest work to date. Take a listen to the first single and brand new lyric video for the track “You Love Me” which is also a fitting tribute just in time for Good Friday this year, which is exactly when this album deserves to be released.

DEGARMO & KEY BAND, No Turning Back Live Re-issue On Girder Music:

Press Release / DEGARMO & KEY BAND were a tour de force, known primarily for their unique Southern-flavored rock in the early years. With two albums of excellent progressive/classic rock and an album of memorable jazz-styled mainstream rock under their belts, they decided to capture their live energy and release a double live album. No Turning Back is considered one of the best live albums in CCM.
Live albums in the 1980s had a tendency to sound overly polished. Shows were recorded and then overdubs would clean up any weaknesses to the point you did not know what was live and what was embellished in the studio. When I listen to No Turning Back, I hear a convincing live album. It does not come across as polished as BOB SEEGER’s Nine Tonight or as flawless as RUSH’s Exit Stage Left. No Turning has the mark of authenticity written all over it.
Beginning with a couple stadium rockers “Light Of The World” and “Go Tell Them”, the band sound in their element. The Hammond organ and synthesizers are mixed so well with what is guitar-driven AOR. Bands such as PRODIGAL, PETRA, and SERVANT also incorporated keys in their sound, but none packed the wallop in the Southern-fried rock tradition as effortlessly and competently as DEGARMO & KEY did.
Taking it down to mid-tempo, “Stella, This Ain’t Hollywood” and “When He Comes Back” manifest a sophisticated STEELEY DAN/later DOOBIE BROTHERS-inspired sound their previous album was known for. These tracks are followed up with three older classics off their first couple albums. “Jericho” flaunts some tasty blues guitar ala early ZZ TOP. On both “Alleyways Of Strife” and “Mary”, Dana Key trades his electric guitar for an acoustic for their more reflective material. Within the entire catalog of CCM, I dare you to find a more heart-felt and dynamic rock ballad than “Mary”.
Moving along, the band pulls no stops and adds their own unique Southern blues spin to the traditional folk hymn, “Wayfaring Stranger”. The improv interplay between Ed DeGarmo’s keyboard work and Dana Key’s electric blues soloing is the stuff that brings angels to weep. Utterly satisfying! Following that is a show-stopping bass solo, which positions itself both complex and entertaining. Before the audience has a chance to catch their breath, DeGarmo throws down the keys on “Enchiridon”, an instrumental piece that rivals in beauty anything Keith Emerson ever committed to tape. This flows into “Long Distance Runner”, a rousing number guaranteed to get the limbs moving. Then, “Matter Of Time”, a new song that could have easily fit on This Ain’t Hollywood, relays the message…
If you need a miracle, if you need a sign, Look and see how He’s
changed my life. I know someday you’ll change your mind. It’s a
matter of time.
Next up, “Emmanuel” is a progressive rocker from This Time Thru with over four minutes of extending jamming. One of the captivating highlights of a live album is the fun jam excursions that can bring new vitality to familiar songs. Another extended jam is found later in the set with “Let Him Help You Today”, a four minute number on Straight On, which evolves into a nine minute jam.
The next two, “Oklahoma Blues” and “Preacher (I’ll Need A Friend)”, are exclusive to this album. The former is a robust blues jam, appropriately titled since the album was recorded in two Oklahoma locations. “Preacher…” rides out slow and heavy, waxing rhetorically from the perspective of one who feels helpless about the direction of their life. This is a vastly overlooked cut that deserves to be revisited.
After a few more upbeat numbers, Dana Key talks for close to four and a half minutes. Not every touring Christian band gave talks, and some bands could have benefitted from thinking more critically about their message content. DEGARMO & KEY were known for their no-nonsense exhortations. The message contained on this album is exemplary of that. With an invitation to follow Jesus, the album closes in the traditional “I Have Decided”, Dana Key singing and playing acoustic guitar and the other band members singing harmonies in the background. This is the perfect album closer.
It is hard to believe No Turning Back came out 40 years ago. It was a formative album of its time. Now it has been re-mastered for an even fuller sound by the seasoned Rob Cowell. With lyrics and extra photos in an expanded booklet, this is a stellar live album from beginning to end, and a highly unique one in its Memphis-styled blues-rock. --Doug Peterson, Down The Line zine

Official MICHAEL BLOODGOOD Medical Relief Fund:
On February 21st, 2022, Michael Bloodgood was airlifted to the hospital after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke and subsequent brain bleed over 2k miles from his home.
The brain bleed was severe and at its peak was 13mm in size. Michael has been intubated for over a week and is still receiving neurological tests 24/7.
At present, Michael is unable to speak or open his eyes, but the healing process has already begun as he responds to music and the voices of his family and close friends by his side.
Although the road to a full recovery is filled with many unknowns, Michael's condition is being reassessed after every CAT scan - every neurological test - with each improvement as a victory.

Press Release / Sidestep Studios have released a new single from 9 YEARS DENIED - a music project put together by producer Scott Moore. The new song, “Pay Day” features special guest Rex Carroll (WHITECROSS, KING JAMES, FIERCE HEART) on guitar.
“Pay Day” is a straight ahead hard rock anthem that brings back memories of bands that have gone from the sunset strip to arenas. Moore penned the song and shared guitar riffage with Carroll. JR McNeeley played bass and mixed the song. JR is a Grammy award winning mixer who has worked with many successful artists over the years, including GUARDIAN, DEMON HUNTER, LOVEWAR and FEAR NOT. Drums were provided by Tony Morra, one of the best session drummers in Nashville to work with, ever.
As noted by Moore, “This is what it sounds like to work with top tier musicians.”
Stayce Roberts of THE BRAVE was brought in for the vocals. “I initially struggled to find the right singer for this song,” adds Moore. “Once I heard Stayce, it blew my mind. He completely expanded the vision I had for the song, and layered all of the lush background vocals to make it larger than life.”
Rex Carroll states, "I love the song, playing guitar on this was a kick in the pants! Congrats Scott… let's go!"

MICHAEL SWEET, Upcoming Recording Projects Update (Facebook - March 2, 2022):
1. Over the holidays (2020) I started working on a new inspirational album with Jeff Savage. It was completed (aside from some mixing tweaks and mastering) in early 2021. When the time is right, it will be released worldwide and I promise you this - It’s unlike anything that I’ve ever done before and holds a very special place in my heart. I’m certain it will also hold a very special place in yours as well. Although we have a way to go before it’s released (most likely next year sometime), it will inspire you and encourage you along life’s way.
2. New metal solo album! Believe it or not the music is already in the can for this as well! (Guitarist) CJ Grimmark (NARNIA) has already written and recorded the music at his studio in Norway, and I’ll be writing the melodies and lyrics and recording the vocals sometime next year as well. It is killer! Totally different and unique with a European/power metal feel to it. Again, unlike anything I’ve done musically. CJ is one of the best guitarists that I’ve ever had the privilege of working with and I can assure you, you will not be disappointed.
3. Before the above, I’ll be touring with STRYPER, writing and singing the new SWEET & LYNCH album this summer, promoting the release of the brand new Frontiers Music SRL album by ICONIC (coming very soon!), touring more with STRYPER and then writing and performing on another Frontiers project (stay tuned on that one). Then? The release of the brand new STRYPER album later this year! Wait till you here it.
“I’m blessed, I’m motivated, I’m excited, I’m ready to work more and ready to rock harder. I’m almost 59 and if it all came to an end today I’d be so happy with everything that I’ve done so far.

“I had been only playing guitar for about 3-4 years at the time, and the other guys were basically still in high school, but we managed to produce an album at such a young age that stands the test of time and has been requested by die hard fans to be re released for many years. So here we are for the first time ever.
“We have changed alot over the years, but the one thing that has not changed is the burning desire and fire in my belly to push myself as a songwriter and musician and take Teramaze on a musical journey of the unknown”.

Press Release / In our quest to bring you those long lost Christian metal gems we encourage you to sit back and put on your headphones and whisk yourself back to 1988 for this next one.
Roxx Records is very excited to be bringing you the long lost sessions from JUDEA. The year was 1988, and Pakaderm Records was one of the hottest labels in Christian rock and metal at the time, and this amazing new band would be invited to record and showcase their talents. Hot on the heels of the very first California Metal compilation, that featured a Whose Who in Christian metal at the time, the label was ready to release the second installment, California Metal 2!
Much like it’s predecessor, California Metal 2 would feature a host of Who’s Who in the Christian rock world at the time. Bands like MASTEDON and RECON we’re all on the Christian music charts and featured on this now classic compilation. But also featured on here with two songs was a pretty unknown band at the time named JUDEA.
California Metal 2 featured two of four tracks recorded at Pakaderm, including “Knock” and “Heart Of Stone”. Most people would easily recognize the artists and songs on this comp, but it was JUDEA that people would go back and give that second listen and say ‘wow who are these guys?’ and the anticipation for more JUDEA music would begin! Alas that would never come to be, as the band would record one more song for Pakaderm and ultimately somewhat fade away into obscurity, until now!
Roxx Records has worked with the band Judea and we have now fully resurrected all of the bands musical repertoire. We are very excited to be bringing you JUDEA, Out Of The Dark - The Lost Sessions.
This release starts off with four amazing tracks that were recorded during the original Pakaderm sessions. Included in this four-track session you’ll hear the two songs that made it on to Cal Metal 2 and two more songs that have never been released. The next song would be one more from a later Pakaderm session the following year, again never released. Then we take you on a musical journey into some older demos and even some newer stuff from these classic hard rockers. And we end with the original two final cuts from that amazing Pakaderm compilation California Metal 2.

Escape Music Announce New JOHN ELEFANTE Solo Album, The Amazing Grace:

Press Release / JOHN ELEFANTE was born in New York and moved to Long Beach, California at an early age. He sang and performed drums for his family band THE BROTHERHOOD in his youth and has always maintained a close working relationship with his brother Dino.
His career really took off in 1981 when he auditioned for lead vocals and keyboards for KANSAS in 1981. He got the job despite stiff competition and went on to perform on Vinyl Confessions and Drastic Measures writing such songs as “Chasing Shadows”, “Fight Fire With Fire” and “Right Away”. He also took lead vocals on the huge mainstream hit song “Play The Game Tonight”. In the mid to late eighties, he was involved with some Christian artists such as SWEET COMFORT BAND and PETRA as a producer, etc.
John took a heavier direction in the late eighties / early nineties when he formed a record label with Dino called Pakaderm and went on to create the band MASTEDON who enjoyed much success during the nineties. If that wasn’t enough he continued at breakneck speed as a label owner and producer and turned his hand to a couple of solo releases Windows Of Heaven in 1995 and Corridors in 1997. In 1999, he released Defying Gravity, which was his most rewarding solo album to date, and in 2009, Revolution Of Mind. John is also 3 time Grammy award winner and has been nominated seven times, he and his brother Dino also wrote and coproduced the song “Young And Innocent”, which appeared on the multi platinum album soundtrack St Elmo‘s Fire.
By the year 2010, John had been involved with 100 or so major albums in one way or another. His songwriting abilities shone through again in the 2013 release On My Way To The Sun, which featured KANSAS members David Ragsdale and Rich Williams.
It's now 2022, and John is still very much at the forefront of the music scene and here we have The Amazing Grace, 11 tracks of the highest quality rock. The song “Stronger Now” has already had an airing on YouTube and has had received many positive reviews. If you haven’t already done so, it’s well worth checking out.

Press Release / 02/11/22- Phoenix, AZ- After a very successful fall tour, IMAGES OF EDEN has now hit the studio and is in the process of writing/ recording 2 (two) follow-up releases to the 2021 album, Angel Born. The upcoming releases tie together as a 2-part concept and will be recorded simultaneously. This will consist of an EP first, then another full-length album afterward, both to be released on Pavement Entertainment. We are very excited to unleash this when the time comes.

“We’ve tracked 7 songs so far and we start on song number 8 today. Everything is sounding raw and powerful yet very locked and tight. There will be 11 songs total on the new album. Definitely very heavy yet melodic and with some very cool grooves and “swag”. There’s a fast heavy side, a mid tempo/power side as well as a true power ballad (guitar based).
“This is our 14th studio album as a band. I’ve always had this number in my head of “21” Stryper albums and 21 solo albums as well. I’m at 11 now with 2 more solo albums in the works. It’s certainly not a race or a competition, just a fun goal.
“I love to write. I also like to take breaks from writing as well. If I wrote continuously, I guess we’d/I’d be at that 21 goal easily. It’s nice to get away from writing then when you do put pen to paper again, you at least feel recharged a bit. That’s so important.
“As far as the new album goes? I have a very distinct feeling about this one. There’s just something really special about the way it’s sounding and coming together. It has it’s own signature yet it is 100% Stryper. I will be posting a few clips this coming week.
“It’s very humbling, gratifying, exciting and surprising to still be making music. And to be making what I undoubtedly would call our best music to date. We’ve come a long way as a band. We’ve gotten heavier and more refined through the years and who knows - maybe some of those folks out there who won’t give us a chance based on the past will actually give this one a listen and become fans. New STRYPER Album Will Feature Lyrics That Address 'The State Of The World’:

Michael Sweet of openly Christian rockers STRYPER says that he is "more concerned with the state of our world" as he continues to work on lyrics for the band's upcoming 14th studio album.
STRYPER's follow-up to 2020's Even The Devil Believes LP will once again be recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Earlier today (Sunday, January 23), the 58-year-old guitarist/vocalist, who recently underwent surgery for a re-detached retina, took to his social media to write: "I'll be honest. I'm a little nervous about the new album. Not the music itself but more so the process.
"We're obviously not operating at 100%," he continued. "Oz (Fox, STRYPER guitarist) lost the hearing in his left ear and I've lost my vision (hopefully and prayerfully short term) in my right eye. We'll be working this way and it's certainly a first. How will it affect our performances? Not much. It most likely will take a little longer to get what we want but maybe not. We'll have to see how that goes.
"I'm also at that place where I'm more concerned with the state of our world. I'm concerned about what I see on the news. Is it just me or does it feel as though we're in a much darker place these days? Our country, our world. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels as though darkness is overtaking the light. People seem much colder and more concerned about themselves than they do others. There are some good people out there but times are definitely changing sadly.
"So, as I've been facedown I've been writing lyrics and although there are some straight up songs about love, there's more of a take on the state of this world with lyrics that definitely address that," Sweet added. "Maybe, just maybe this album will shed a little light into and onto some dark areas. That's always my goal and always my desire. To help, not to hurt. To heal, not to damage. This is my intention with every song I write.
"Anyway - we appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we embark on what will be our 14th studio album and I really believe that this one has the very strong potential to be our best. I don't say that lightly. I would never say it if I didn't believe it.
"We officially start next Wednesday. I'm excited and I'm ready to have an incredible year. I hope to see you all at a STRYPER show in the very near future. It's been way too long…

Last month, Sweet stated about the musical direction of STRYPER's new material: "Lots of riffs, grooves, up tempo and mid tempo and everything has a great feel to it. I've only sent music to the guys so they haven't heard any melodies yet but the melodies are strong and powerful.
"It's always a little strange talking about your own music but I can say that I'm really excited about the direction of this album! I know you will be too. We've tuned down to D so the tuning makes it all sound a little fatter and heavier. There are a few songs with the low E string dropped down another step (C) so those songs have a bit more meat and potato's as well;-) There are a few ballads but they're not your typical 'piano' or 'acoustic' ballads. They're heavy as well and definitely guitar driven.
"Even though there have been obstacles along the way, this album really has shaped up to be an amazing piece of work," Sweet added. "We're a long way out but man, I can't wait for all of you to hear this!!"
Last March, Fox underwent the first of his brain surgeries to treat one of the tumors that were found in his head more nearly four years ago. That same month, STRYPER and Frontiers Music Srl announced that they have extended their working relationship for the release of more new studio albums together.
STRYPER and Frontiers originally joined forces in 2013 for the release of Second Coming, an album comprised of new recordings of 14 songs from the band's early years, as well as two brand new songs. What followed has been a string of critically and commercially successful studio albums, including No More Hell To Pay (2013), Fallen (2015), God Damn Evil (2018) and Even The Devil Believes (2020). Additionally, a live album and long-form video, Live At The Whisky (2014) was made available. Every one of the albums released on Frontiers in the past nine years has successfully charted on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Hot 100, Rock, Hard Rock, Current and Christian Music album charts.
STRYPER is one of the most well-known metal bands to emerge from the fertile '80s metal renaissance over three decades ago. The band first landed on the global scene in 1984 and is responsible for such classic '80s metal albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With The Devil and In God We Trust and hit singles/videos such as "Calling On You", "Free" and "Honestly". To date, the band has sold upwards of eight million records worldwide and is a Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee. STRYPER was also the first band to have two songs in MTV's "Top 10 Video Countdown" simultaneously.
After being on a hiatus for much of the '90s, STRYPER returned stronger than ever in the early 21st century. Musically, the band has progressed and grown their fan base steadily and continuously, being one of the few "classic" metal bands of the '80s that managed to keep themselves front and center thanks to the consistency of their musical output.

“I want to clear up what possibly may be a misunderstanding regarding the Against The Law album. Tom Werman, the producer of ATL is undoubtedly one of the best rock producers of our time. We were thrilled to work with him and I’m still honored that we were and are able to list Tom as one of our producers. Tom (along with engineer Eddie DeLena) helped us make a great sounding album without question.
“My dislike for the album is everything else and that lies with the band. Sadly, we changed everything about who we were/are and sold in my honest opinion. We became just another “rock band” that lost its stripes, lost a big part of its sound and we lost out souls and our spirit. Not so much musically but in every other way. It was an embarrassment to be honest. Definitely a regretful part of my life for sure.
“That’s not to say that Tom and or Eddie didn’t knock it out of the park. They did! It was an absolute pleasure working with them and truly humbling for them to want to work with us. Tom was always a gentleman and a professional. Although we haven’t really stayed in touch as much as we could, he also became a friend.
“That album certainly could have and should have done more but for whatever reason, it didn’t. Songs like “Lady” and “All For One” should have charted in the top 10 easily. They didn’t. Our label (Enigma) closed their doors so that obviously didn’t help matters any. It was an up hill battle. Ultimately, it led to the bands demise. We wanted so badly to be something else that we were willing to sacrifice our faith, our marriages, our integrity and our legacy.
“I just wanted to publicly say that I love Tom and I have nothing but respect for all that he’s accomplished and I’m blessed to have been able to work with himself this lifetime. He will always be one of my favorite producers.”

1. "What Should Not Be Said" - an instrumental intro build up that's pretty progressive
2. "Trilemma" - a raging thrasher, our fastest song ever, which has the correct take on the same topic Exodus illiterately tried to cover in "Lunatic Liar Lord"
3. "Exalted" - anthemic power metal inspired by some of the my favorite melodic US power metal bands like Queensryche, Fates Warning, Crimson Glory, etc.
4. "Greater Than Death" - 3 minute fast raging thrasher with some punishing riffs. This one will be our first single. It's about the things in life that are worth dying for.
5. "A Show Of Force" - melodic thrashy tune that's a bit less crazy and a bit more "epic" sounding. It's about slaughtering the prophets of Baal
6. "The Advocate And The Accuser" - mid-paced stomper inspired by stuff like 80s Exodus. Has maybe our toughest riff ever in it, a really tricky one as Garth and I will attest to!
7. "Escape From The Abyss" - frenetic speed metal with a lot of twists and turns. I really think folks will like this one and it doesn't sound like any other band really.
8. "Battle Angels" - cover of the old Sanctuary song. I first heard this song on a cassette metal compilation and always thought it was really catchy. Challenging vocals to say the least!
9. "Desolation" - an instrumental that Garth wrote that I really like. Kinda spooky and ominous. Guest keys provided by Joe Whitworth. This track really sets the mood for…
10. "Curse Of Black Hearts". The final song that ends on a really heavy note, with some blast beats and fast drumming. This one was a lot of fun to play live and I think works really well as an album closer.
TEMPLE OF BLOOD independently released its debut full length Prepare For The Judgement Of Mankind in 2005 and sophomore effort Overlord three years later (also independent). The group was founded in 2001 by Mullis with the mission to record, perform, and share their love of the music that inspired them with fellow metal fans from around the world. Specifically, the band was created as a means of fusing the different Metal styles that inspire them: Power/Thrash Metal with elements of traditional Heavy Metal, Death Metal, and Doom.
TEMPLE OF BLOOD has completely revamped its rhythm section for A Show Of Force, with the return of Garth Lovvorn to bass and backing vocals and the addition of Scott Fuller (MORBID ANGEL, ex-HAVOK) as session drummer. Guitar solos are played by Andre' Corbin (ex-Helstar, who was last heard by the public on their 1990 masterpiece "Nosferatu"), as well as Aureilen Gonzalez (an amazing phenom from the French band Dead Tree Seeds who captures the vibe of classic thrash metal extremely well with his soloing style).

Scraping together $1,000 and recording in an eight-track studio, SAINT produced Warriors Of The Son, a raw platter of American-style NWOBHM. Notable was the (more than obvious) comparison to British metal brethren, JUDAS PRIEST, as vocalist Josh Kramer could have been Halford's twin. Give SAINT kudos for moxy, as Warriors Of The Son was as bold as it was rough-hewn and unpolished. Better than average scores for SAINT for taking their best shot with limited resources, and then hitting it big- call it an exercise in faith.
The album now lives in revered cult status amongst fans of Heavy Metal. The album is finally available in heavy-weight random color vinyl, featuring two covers (Morada and Rotten Records) and a 12x12 insert that serves as the normal back cover to the album. Desperate Night is right on par with Crime Scene Earth, Hell Blade & The Mark. The sound is fat, full and round. It's hard to describe SAINT if you've never listened to them, but I would compare them in some ways with JUDAS PRIEST. (Imagine STRYPER on steroids). SAINT is a candle in the darkness, they are unbelievably hard core and not ashamed of it. At times, it's as if they are actually battling the Antichrist right there on the track through their insane guitar riffs, double bass beats and powerful screams!
“To Live Forever” was slated as the title track to SAINT’s 4th album to be recorded in follow up to Too Late For Living.

Live Bootleg was recorded live at the Odeum in Villa Park, IL (Suburb of Chicago) October 21-22, 1983 and released in 1984. It was the first live album that the band ever recorded. Most live albums are not usually done well and lacked production quality, however, Live Bootleg was the exception. It had all the elements of a studio album with all the excitement of a live audience and became a fan favorite.
“White Noise” (the Stu Heiss guitar solo) became our “Eruption”, yes I am referring to the Eddie Van Halen “Eruption”. It also contained one of the great medleys of the era with “Waves/Awaiting Your Reply/Broken Promises/Autograph/City Streets…” Not too often does a live album contain songs that were not on any other album. It features a mixture of the band's most popular songs as well as two new songs: "Gameroom" and "Playground". The album also features the only time a song from one of the band's independent cassettes was ever re-recorded for one of their official releases, “Quite Enough”.
There are a lot of great REZ BAND albums for sure, however this one is most likely near the top of most best-of list and for good reason. It rocks and it wasn’t flooded with background audience noise. If you’ve ever been to the Odeum in Villa Park it was a staple of many great bands. How REZ, pulling off a live album like they did, is nothing short of astonishing. Now re-mastered with a LTD Collectors trading card in elite quality expanded packaging with readable lyrics and photos, you can once again enjoy this great album in all its glory, sounding and looking better than ever.

Hostage was REZ BAND’s 6th studio album, originally released in 1984. Between Heaven And Hell was released in 1985, which is one of the most magical/special times in music. Something happened this year and music just began to explode with all the right combinations. This album is a perfect example. It was GOLD for Christian Rock fans. 9 out the 10 songs was huge hits for fans. A true cross-over to the mainstream, Between Heaven And Hell pulled no punches about God and ministry to others but was a directly evangelistic leaving listeners the option of drawing their own conclusion.
“Love Comes Down” was a rather high dollar music video that saw regular rotation on MTV for a stint, something that most bands with the exception of PETRA and STRYPER were not able to convince labels to do. By 1985, the issue of apartheid in South Africa had come to national prominence in pop music with the release of Artists United Against Apartheid's "Sun City", and although REZ had already addressed the subject several years prior on 1979's Rainbow's End, "Zuid Afrikan" reminded listeners that the issue was still of importance to the band. Between Heaven And Hell includes the closing track, "2,000," and "Shadows," which became a live favorite due to its unflinching depiction of the destructiveness of teenage suicide, a topic even more relevant today.

Press Release / Originally recorded in 1995 and released on Intense Records, Camelot In Smithereens blended bits of thrash with technical progressive metal. DELIVERANCE vocalist and band leader, Jimmy P Brown II always lamented that the final version of the album was far from what his original vision entailed. According to Brown, "The Camelot story embodies a lot of allegory, but it's an important tale! It can, and will mean different things to different people. I know what it means to me, and I am truly glad that after these years it can be revealed to you!"
Camelot… tackles some courageous and vulnerable subject matter, like depression, sexual misconduct, questioning of one's faith, and seeking God. The songs sort of have an emotional ebb & flow that begins with posing the question of "Where are you?" to God, followed by a recounting of some negative things going on in the protagonist's life, followed by a series of songs talking about the daily struggle between purity & sin, and wrapping up with an ending that takes the approach that no matter what comes in life, we are to look to God for hope, answers, and ultimately salvation.
In 2021, Jimmy Brown and company took on the task of re-recording the album from the ground up, and Jimmy wrote a book as a companion piece so Camelot… finally reflects the original intention and vision intended for this classic album. Press Release / When DELIVERANCE first came onto the metal scene in the mid-80's, they were full-on speed metal thrashers, but even then it was with an interesting QUEENSRYCHE stylistic slant as well. SACRED WARRIOR’s 1990 Wicked Generation is an album with a much darker vibe than previous masterpieces - one which would stir mixed reactions from the fan base. Wicked Generation, while controversial for its darker vibe remains an essential part of the SACRED WARRIOR story.
Certainly, it is the most conceptual album of the four, with many similarities to Operation Mindcrime but with a positive message. Wicked Generation was the ‘ministry’ album made to reach the those lost and broken - the destitute, depraved and forgotten. Dealing with issues such as child abuse, suicide, dabbling in the demonic and sin in general, these songs have a heavy vibe for sure. MICHAEL SWEET Completes Work On Music For Next STRYPER Album:

Michael Sweet of openly Christian hard rockers STRYPER has completed the songwriting process for the band's upcoming album. The follow-up to last year's Even The Devil Believes will once again be recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Earlier today, the 58-year-old guitarist/vocalist posted the following update on his social media: "I'm happy to say that all the songs (music) for the new STRYPER album are complete. I started work on everything 2 weeks after my eye surgery (once I could lift my head) so it's taken a little longer than usual (3 weeks) and also due to the holidays. Of course we will fine tune them once we get together for rehearsal. Usually we rehearse at my house and then we head to Spirithouse to record. This time around we'll be rehearsing at Spirithouse and we'll be working though a few songs at a time and then tracking them once the band learns them. Very different yet most likely very effective.
"What do the songs sound like? Killer!" he continued. "Lots of riffs, grooves, up tempo and mid tempo and everything has a great feel to it. I've only sent music to the guys so they haven't heard any melodies yet but the melodies are strong and powerful.
"It's always a little strange talking about your own music but I can say that I'm really excited about the direction of this album! I know you will be too. We've tuned down to D so the tuning makes it all sound a little fatter and heavier. There are a few songs with the low E string dropped down another step (C) so those songs have a bit more meat and potato's as well;-) There are a few ballads but they're not your typical 'piano' or 'acoustic' ballads. They're heavy as well and definitely guitar driven.
"Even though there have been obstacles along the way, this album really has shaped up to be an amazing piece of work," Sweet added. "We're a long way out but man, I can't wait for all of you to hear this!! It may very well be our best yet".
STRYPER and Frontiers originally joined forces in 2013 for the release of Second Coming, an album comprised of new recordings of 14 songs from the band's early years, as well as two brand new songs. What followed has been a string of critically and commercially successful studio albums, including No More Hell To Pay (2013), Fallen (2015), God Damn Evil (2018) and Even The Devil Believes (2020). Additionally, a live album and long-form video, Live At The Whisky (2014) was made available. Every one of the albums released on Frontiers in the past eight years has successfully charted on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Hot 100, Rock, Hard Rock, Current and Christian Music album charts.
STRYPER is one of the most well-known metal bands to emerge from the fertile '80s metal renaissance over three decades ago. The band first landed on the global scene in 1984 and is responsible for such classic '80s metal albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With The Devil and In God We Trust and hit singles/videos such as "Calling On You", "Free" and "Honestly". To date, the band has sold upwards of eight million records worldwide and is a Dove Award winner and Grammy nominee. Debut LATTER REIGN Album Live For The Day To Be Re-issued On Roxx Records:
Press Release / Roxx Records is kicking off 2022 with a Loud Bang!. We are excited to be bringing in the New Year with our first release of 2022 from classic Christian rockers LATTER REIGN.
LATTER REIGN was founded by Ryan Cane & July Cardenas. July in turn would call upon Doug Bear to play drums and the three started jamming at a small church in Ontario, California. As the band began to get their grooves down, July reached out to Luis Cardenas to try out as lead vocalist. They started practicing in Luis' garage right after that, but it was short lived as Ryan and Doug would leave the band before they ever really got it off the ground.
Luis Cardenas and July Cardenas determined to continue as they knew the look and feel of this band had great potential and they would begin spinning their wheels to keep LATTER REIGN going. In order to take the band to the next level they continued putting those pieces together to truly make this a viable professional rock band. July would next find Brad Smith, while Luis would bring in Glenn Graff. Then lastly Brad would invite Dave Bonavich to play drums and finally all the pieces were together and LATTER REIGN was rockin’ on all cylinders.
LATTER REIGN would become a very well-known Christian rock band as they started to play gigs all over Southern California. LATTER REIGN didn’t just play churches though, they also went out and played clubs, bars and battle of the bands that were non-Christian events. Their philosophy was that most of the people that attend churches have already heard the word of God but the people at bars, clubs and secular events had not. Knowing this and taking it to heart, LATTER REIGN would go out and spread God’s word in places that many Christian Rock bands would not dare do to go.
LATTER REIGN were also invited to many of the big Christian rock festivals and concerts in Southern California back at the height of their performing days, playing with bands like FEAR NOT, BARREN CROSS, GUARDIAN, BRIDE, SWITCHFOOT and many others.
LATTER REIGN debut Live For the Day would be the first album that LATTER REIGN recorded. It sold well and got the band the recognition they needed at the time back in 1991 to keep the band going strong. Up next, the band would record one final track with this incarnation of LATTER REIGN releasing the single “Desire”, which would be included on the Heavens Metal Volume 1 compilation. This would be the end of this chapter for LATTER REIGN, but was it really the end or just the beginning?
To memorialize and capture this piece in the bands history Roxx Records will be releasing a Limited Edition CD pressing of the original seven-track album Live For The Day coupled with two additional bonus tracks being “Desire” and an unplugged version of “Winds of Change”.

Melodic Revolution Records Announce New TIME HORIZON Album, Power Of Three:
Press Release / TIME HORIZON, a Northern California-based melodic art-rock influenced band with two highly acclaimed previously released albums, is returning with a third album titled Power Of Three on the Melodic Revolution Records. The album is available for pre-order in both CD & Digital formats and will be released in early 2022 with Vinyl to follow.
In early Spring, TIME HORIZON will give fans a sneak peek into Power Of Three with the release of their first single; “Living for a Better Day” featuring a special guest appearance by legendary SAGA front man Michael Sadler on vocals.
The band has added two permanent members to the roster since the release of Transitions in 2015, namely David Bradley Mau and Michael Gregory. Their contributions to the sound can be heard in the evolving sound that is TIME HORIZON.
Founding members Ralph Otteson and Bruce Gaetke had brought on Allen White and Dave Miller to be able to tour the first album Living Water. Those two ended up staying for the next project Transitions and now again with Power Of Three.

Track 1 - “Living for Another Day”:
This song features the vocal talent of Michael Sadler. This is a definitely SAG-influenced tune that fits very well for Sadler’s singing style. It was a pre-album single digital release through MRR. Other than being “Saga-esk”, the guitar solo is very reminiscent of Steve Lukather. The song’s message of instead of waiting around for a better day, let’s start living for a better day. An encouraging word for today.
Track 2 - “I Hear, I See”:
This next song is where we get to familiarize ourselves with new lead vocalist David Mau. David had previously recorded this song on a solo effort, but it was re-arranged by Ralph Otteson to fit better into the TIME HORIZON sound. The message is that in a world in crisis, one still has hope that can be found if we open our ears and open our eyes and seek the truth.
Track 3 - “Prelude”:
This is the instrumental lead into “The Razor’s Edge”. Big drums, Hammond, synth, and guitar anthems in a SPOCK’S BEARD style motif. Guitar solos trading off with keyboard licks bring us into the next song.
Track 4 - ”The Razor’s Edge”:
The feel during the verses and chorus is in MIKE AND THE MECHANICS kind of vibe. Lead vocals are handled by drummer Bruce Gaetke, who sang leads on earlier albums. During the bridge, we are back to the motif of the prelude. The song fades with an ending chorus, something you don’t hear a lot of anymore.
Track 5 - ”Steve’s Song”:
An instrumental track featuring a bass solo by guest artist Michael Manring, in a tribute to the band’s first original bassist, Steve Gourley. This not only pays homage to his time with the band but also his work with humanitarian relief and human rights for the poor and vulnerable. His untimely passing is portrayed by10-cc angelic voices that wash the sonic colors behind a beautiful fretless bass taking the melody.
Track 6 - ”Time To Wonder”:
The GENESIS-inspired ballad features David Mau singing a catchy more commercial-sounding song geared for radio play. Piano and bright guitars back the singer and the 10-cc theme is also heard again.
Tack 7 - “The Great Divide”:
A high-energy rocking song brings back around with KANSAS-like riffs and powerful vocals. The song’s message calls out for us to try to build bridges across the divisions we see in our world.
Track 8 - “Digital Us”:
In the flavor of a RUSH tune, Digital us has Alex-like guitars and Geddy keys but also uses PINK FLOYD effects to transmit a signal that we are becoming digitized in our life. Technology enhances our lives but also binds us to it.
The entire album is a musical journey for the listener. Songs differ in style, yet still, have a recognizable sound that is TIME HORIZON.
