Honduras Progressive Christian Metal Band TSIDKENU Release Two New Singles, “En El Nombre De Dios” & “El Tiempo No Da Màs”:
Press Release / After nearly twenty six years, the progressive metal band TSIDKENU continues to be well known in both Honduras and metal circles internationally.
The group recently released two new singles, with "En el Nombre de Dios" (In The Name Of God) on December 2 and "El Tiempo No Da Más" (Time Gives No More) on December 9
Both songs will be included as part of the groups upcoming third album Apocalypsis Magna, which will debut new members vocalist Edgard Soriano and bassist Elias Octavio.
Each song was written by guitarist and founding member Hugo Durón, whom is accompanied by his brother and keyboardist Thomas Durón and drummer Luis Montesi.
“En El Nombre De Dios” (In The Name Of God) is a song about spiritual abuse. It is controversial due to its cover showing a wolf in sheep’s clothing while holding a sacred book I its hands.
“El Tiempo No Da Mas (Time Gives No More) is a song criticizing human behavior and the excessive consumption of resources, which is leading to the destruction of the planet. The cover shows an ancient momentum with a burning clock, alluding to the fact time is being consumed while everything is collapsing.

New Video From NEAL MORSE, “I Hate My Brothers”:
On August 11, 2023 NEAL MORSE released his latest solo album The Dreamer - Joseph: Part One, which tells the classic story of Joseph using the medium of progressive rock as only he can!
Whereas The Dreamer - Joseph: Part One concluded with Joseph unjustly imprisoned, the story picks up on follow up effort The Restoration - Joseph: Part Two (scheduled for release on January 12, 2024) chronicling how Joseph’s wisdom and intelligence led him to become the viceroy of Egypt and to the eventual reunion with his family.

NEAL comments on the album:
“The second installment in the Joseph story shocked me! I wish you could hear the development… Where it started to where it ended up! Pretty crazy, how it all developed largely with the help of other artists. I won’t get into naming names because I would have to name all of them, but friends and brothers (literally!) really brought a lot to the table on this one and I am absolutely thrilled with the way The Restoration turned out. I hope you guys love it as much as I loved making it!”
Now, in the follow up to Joseph’s story, NEAL assumes the lead vocalist role, while an impressive cast of guest artists, including Nick D’Virgilio (SPOCK’S BEARD), Ted Leonard (SPOCK’S BEARD, PATTERN SEEKING ANIMALS), Matt Smith (THEOCRACY), Ross Jennings (HAKEN), Jake Livgren (PROTO-KAW) and Alan Morse (SPOCK’S BEARD), join him in this second chapter. MICHAEL SWEET Undergoes Surgery For Thyroid Cancer: 'I'm Feeling Relatively Good':

Michael Sweet of Christian rockers STRYPER has just undergone partial thyroidectomy, the surgery to remove part of his thyroid gland. It is the most common surgery for thyroid cancer.
Earlier today (Friday, December 15),Sweet posted a selfie from his hospital bed and he included the following message: "I'm out of surgery and feeling relatively good. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers and no matter what KISS may claim, we have the best fans/friends in the world. God bless you all".
In late November, Sweet told Real Music With Gary Stuckey about his operation: "The highest risk with this particular surgery is damage to the vocal nerve. I'm a singer, so I'm going into the surgery with a high risk of vocal nerve damage, which could alter my voice for the rest of my life. I am in the best hands, Mass Eye And Ear (in Boston). I've found a specialist who specializes in singers and professionals and not damaging the nerve. The risk is much lower with this particular doctor because he uses this monitoring system to bring that risk way down from 25 or 26 percent down to one percent. So, I feel that I'm in good hands. They're gonna remove half of my thyroid and leave the other half, because this side has not grown large enough to biopsy; this did and it wound up being cancer. And they're gonna remove that side. It's a slow-growing cancer. I'm at a good stage right now, so it should be okay."
He added: "We'll see how that goes. I've gotta sleep sitting up for a while and get through whatever pain there is to endure and take some Tylenols and call 'em in the morning - you know, that whole thing. And I'm hoping that my voice is better when it's over and done with."
Asked how he thinks his cancer battle will affect his songwriting, Sweet said: "I'm gonna start writing. I was gonna start about a week ago, but I was just so busy doing this little acoustic run. And then now we have Thanksgiving and the Christmas show. So I'm gonna take the weekend off and next Monday, I'm gonna start writing the STRYPER album. I'm gonna write a song every day and I'll work on 'em and tweak 'em as much as I can. My surgery prep is (December) 14th and then surgery on the 15th. So I'll have that perfect window to get it done. After I'm done with the surgery, I'll be working on lyrics and melodies and whatnot as best I can. He said I should be able to sing within two months, but I think it's gonna definitely affect my writing. I'm gonna be thinking and certainly locking in mentally to all sorts of things going through my head, 'cause it changes your outlook on life."
He continued: "When you hear the 'C' word and it applies to you, no matter what kind it is or how serious it is, it's continually going through your head, your own mortality. And are you gonna be around longer or shorter - all these thoughts go through your head. And it puts things in perspective in terms of what's important and what's not - real fast."
STRYPER is the first overtly Christian metal band to go mainstream. The group's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Formed in 1983 as ROXX REGIME, STRYPER's albums include To Hell With The Devil, Second Coming, No More Hell To Pay, Fallen, Even The Devil Believes and the band's latest effort, The Final Battle.
Michael is joined in STRYPER by his brother Robert Sweet (drums),Oz Fox (guitars) and Perry Richardson (bass).

BARREN CROSS bassist Jim LaVerde in regards to the groups debut EP Believe (December 11, 2023)”
“Miracle- a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.
“Back in 1985 Barren Cross released the Believe EP. We needed $6000 to complete the project. Numerous folks pitched in and we had $5000. We were short $1000 and had no idea where it would come from. One day a women was walking past the house we rehearsed at, (drummer) Steve Whitaker’s moms place. The women noticed a Metal For The King sticker on the back of one of our vehicles, you may have one The women felt impressed to give us $1000 and she did. We went on to record Believe the rest is history. I would call that a miracle. Some random person we did not know doing something like that. That’s a God thing.
“What can be said about this story?
“Whether you are a follower of Yahweh or not, God uses these types of things for His ultimate glory, It’s his way letting the atheist and the believer know that He has the final say and He is all powerful. The story of Moses and Pharaoh is a perfect example of this. The Lord did the miraculous that only a divine intervention could explain. Can you even imagine being there?
“So should we seek after the miracle? I think not. Should we expect the miraculous? Absolutely!
“When Barren Cross received that gift it brought me to my knees in gratitude. Recently Sanctuary received a large gift for our sound system for our monthly gatherings. It took me totally by surprise. I wept with joy because I have been asking the Lord for provisions for that very thing. “We must ‘Believe’, because ‘He loves You’, if your ‘Going Nowhere’, ‘Give Your Life’ to the ‘King Of Kings’, remember that ‘Just A Touch’ of His hand can bring healing, ‘Light The Flame’ of believing God is still in the business of doing the miraculous for His glory.”

MISISON OF ONE Release New Album, Kill The Cobra:
Press Release / One man band project MISSION OF ONE of Watertown, Tennessee based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Dickens released its fifth album Kill The Cobra on November 13, 2023.
A lyric video to the debut single off the album, “Cordelia”, is available for streaming (above).
Dickens handles all aspects of the writing and recording process with exception of lead guitar, which attributes to Kevin Hasselquist of SARDIS (five songs), Nashville pastor Bo Fawbush (three songs) and John Evans of EVANS & STOKES (two songs).
According to the artist, the goal of MISSION OF ONE is ‘to share Christ with the world while having fun rockin' the world with some high energy metal!’. He comments further regarding the Kill The Cobra lyrics: ‘This is definitely a Christian album except for the final track, which is a big rock anthem stating that we want to rock!’ Dickens describes the albums musical direction as ‘80s style metal with a bit more modern production.’
Previous MISSION OF ONE albums include Hostile To The Gospel (2013), Mission Of One (2008) and Show Me The Way (2005). Debut Take Another Swig (2004) was released under the MISSIONARY ONE heading.
Dickens has also put out two blues rock albums as part of BIG CHRIS & D’BARE BONES BAND, When Your Time Comes (2016) and Man Overboard (2018). He also plays in a 70’s style rock band called HARD ROCK with Bo Fawbush.

New Single From SIGNUM REGIS, “Servants Of The Fallen One”:
“Servants Of The Fallen One” is the fourth single off the new album, Undivided, from Slovakia based melodic power metal band SIGNUM REGIS. Undivided was released via Ulterium Records on November 17, 2023 on CD, limited edition vinyl and digital download.
Bassist Ronnie König of Signum Regis comments:
"Servants of the Fallen One” was written, recorded and added to the album as the last song, just to make sure that there were enough songs with the 'hit' characteristics on it. It looks like this decision was a home run, because fans consider it to be one of the catchiest or the catchiest song on the album."
Production, mixing and mastering attribute to Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, KAMELOT, EVERGREY and the epic artwork to Uwe Jarling (GRAVE DIGGER, MYSTIC PROPHECY). Guests on the album include guitarists Jimi Cimbala (NO CONTROL) and Daniel J. Fries (AFFECTOR) and vocalist David Åkesson (MOONLIGHT AGONY, QUANTICE, SYMPHONITY).

LORDCHAIN Releases Free Praise EP, Miracles In Mercy:

LORDCHAIN was formed in 1990 by guitarist Jeff Grady & drummer Kelly Matthews. After several demos, they released their first album in 1997 followed by 8 more full length releases & 4 praise EPs over the next 25 years, including a 30th anniversary ‘Best Of’ album.
After signing with Roxx Records in 2022, LORDCHAIN released the full length offering Surviving the Wicked Storm a year later followed by Miracles In Mercy the fall of 2023. A new heavy album is to come in 2024.

LAZARUS, Never Released Album Exegesis On Sonic Age Records:
Album Release: January 12, 2024
Press Release / LAZARUS were a Christian heavy / power metal band from the UK that started in the late 80's and gained posthumous famous from their two songs "Do Or Die" and "Overpower" that were included in the legendary white metal compilation "White Metal Warriors - Last Ship Home" that was released in 1991. The band had recorded an entire studio album back in the early 90's that was supposed to be released by Edge Records but unfortunately it remained forever unreleased.
During the Covid pandemic we were contacted by our friend Olaf Becker, a white metal guru and he proposed to us to release this little known gem, as he was in contact with the band. After exchanging a few emails with the guitar player and co-founder of the band Stuart Pope we came to an agreement to finally release the band's "lost" album and offer "Exegesis" a new life, including as bonus songs the two classic LAZARUS tunes from the aforementioned compilation and the completely unreleased "Onto Jerusalem" that never made it to that compilation.
We prepared for you a short teaser with a few seconds from each song and we strongly believe that this is a CD release that you should not miss. It comes with 20 page booklet loaded with a very detailed interview with the band conducted by Olaf Becker himself, plus amazing photos, lyrics, credits and liner notes.

ARTIST COMMENTARY
Bassist Jim LaVerde in regards to 1988 sophomore BARREN CROSS album Atomic Arena:
“1987 was a really good year for Barren Cross. We were playing all the time and more importantly writing songs for the Atomic Arena record. We had signed a contract with Enigma Records. We finished writing the record, and we were slated to begin recording. Excitement was in the air. We could feel the momentum moving in our direction. The day arrived for us to begin recording with John and Dino Elefante. They spent copious amount of time getting drum sounds, bass and guitar.
“One of the first tracks we worked on was “Imaginary Music”- except it was not called “Imaginary Music”. If you listened to the original way we wrote the song, you would not recognize it. As our producer Dino took that song apart and rebuilt the whole dang thing. I thought to myself who is this guy ruining our masterpiece! The nerve. To be honest I was not happy about this at all. We of coarse acquiesced in protest. The song slowly came together, reassembled, new parts mixed with the old. I distinctly remember the day Dino was mixing the song with the big backing vocal, memorable guitar and vocal hook. He called us in to hear a ruff mix. I was floored to say the least. It was outrageously good. We went on to make a MTV music video, we played the song at the last Immortal Festival and just about every concert prior to that.
“First thing that comes to mind is I don’t always have the best answers. God places good people in our lives to help guide and direct us to get the best outcome. A good counselor is worth his or her weight in gold.
“Second, sometimes God has to break us down only to rebuild us better stronger and faster. I know exactly what that feels like and frankly it sucks. In the moment, rewriting your future life can be like borrowing through a mountain full of solid granite. That’s a lovely experience. Once through that granite your never the same.”

NEAL MORSE Announces New Album, The Restoration - Joseph: Part 2:

"'Flicker' was one of the first tracks written for the Mosaic album. A fish-out-of-water tale of brutal honesty, the lyrics are a bit more straightforward and candid than usual from me, but that's what felt most authentic in the moment. Musically, it's aggressive, melodic, and fast, and sits somewhere slightly different for us, I think. It seemed like an obvious choice for opening track of the record".

“I had not been able to write anything (substantial) since our Weathered And Torn tour last fall with Michael Schenker, then after Europe, the well was completely dry, which has never happened before. So after a little while, I got frustrated and tried to ‘force’ some stuff out, but everything I was working on felt extremely unnatural and ‘phoned in’. I had about 8 -10 songs in progress but it felt as if I was trying to drive through the mud with the parking brake on just to get this stuff on a canvas.
“On August 20, I felt compelled to completely trash everything that I had been working on for almost a year except 3 recent song lyrics that were in progress. These songs felt so mature, polished and are more poetic than anything I had written to date. I kept feeling like there is something very ‘different’ happening this round, unlike ever before. So in the last 60 days, the floodgates opened and I was able to tweak the existing 3 songs and write 10 more that also feel complete and polished. What was happening felt very ‘supernatural’. I have no other word for it and for the first time, I am speechless at what is coming out.
“As of today, it feels like I have a completely ‘penciled in’ lyric canvas (with a tentative album title) that just needs the musical paint. Seems I might start slinging paint on it after we get home from our trip to Mexico, but I will know when the time is right.
“I will say this has really given me a much needed lift... something that was long overdue since Europe. That fiasco knocked me down much more than I led the world to believe. I know it knocked us all down, but we are standing tall again and ready to roll... just with a few extra scars! Hang on because it is all about to go down!
“God is good! Love you all and I will keep you posted as things happen!"

New Single From SOMBRE HOLIDAY, “Stay Awake”:
Album Release: November 3, 2023
A multinational act consisting of brothers Terry (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards & songwriting) and Trevor (drummer, lyrics and artwork) Friesen from Canada and California, respectively, SOMBRE HOLIDAY has impressed over the years with its outside the box and inventive approach to the hard music scene- traversing dark and moody musical territory few if any dare to tread. Consider how the group aligns multifarious forms of metal and hard rock to create a sound both melancholic and subdued (sort of like mid-period DELIVERANCE) but also strongly slanted towards a Gothic influenced progressiveness (think SAVIOUR MACHINE). Further blend an equal emphasizing of the intricately woven and doom-like (VENI DOMINE comes to mind) with the richly melodic (somewhat akin to STRYPER) and the SOMBRE HOLIDAY portrait is complete.

“This is the most emotionally intimate SOMBRE HOLIDAY album we’ve created… the music and words invite the listener into deep reflection on the state of relationship with our Creator- a God who has fashioned each human being with a longing in the soul that only He can fill. Our soul comes alive the more intimately we connect with our Creator… The Soul’s Blood thematically dives in deep to what we need the most.
“True to SOMBRE HOLIDAY music, each song on The Soul’s Blood is difficult to isolate from the rest of the album. Many of the musical and lyrical themes reoccur on different parts of the album… in this case, the majority of the wrestling happens in the first half- how surrendered do I actually want to be? Can I trust God with my soul? And the last half of the album, there is a musical and lyrical shift, where more surrender happens, and greater intimacy occurs, giving strength, joy, and a more ‘heavenly’ outlook on life.

Frontiers Music Srl has announced the upcoming debut album from SOLEDRIVER, a collaboration between two extremely talented and prolific songwriters, musicians and producers, Michael Sweet (STRYPER, BOSTON, ICONIC, SWEET & LYNCH) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (EDGE OF FOREVER, HARDLINE, JORN). The first single from the album, "Rise Again", is out now accompanied by a music video.
Return Me To Light sees these two incredible talents joining forces to make a killer melodic rock album that only they could create. In their studio work, both Sweet and Del Vecchio have a shared vision of very detailed productions, and both love crystal-clear arrangements. But both never forget the power that a rock album needs to have, so Return Me To Light showcases great, powerful deliveries, but nothing overwhelms the vocals and beauty of the melodies. To put it simply, the album is melodic rock in the style of JOURNEY and FOREIGNER, but on steroids and with the unique Sweet and Del Vecchio sonic stamp on it.
Return Me To The Light is scheduled for a November 17, 2023 release.
Sweet says: "I've always been a metal head at heart, but as much as I love metal, I love the melodic and 'song'-oriented side of music. Songs that move you and songs that touch your soul. So many bands from the '70s and '80s did just that. I'm proud to say that as much as I listened to IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST, I also listened to LOVERBOY, TOTO, FOREIGNER, SURVIVOR, JOURNEY, and many others. That's what makes me who I am today. Diversity. So, I've always wanted to do an album that takes you back to those days and here it is!"
He adds: "Working with Alessandro Del Vecchio has been an absolute pleasure and he's an amazing talent. We worked together to record and produce an album we're both very proud of. Every song has something powerful to say yet makes its own statement musically and lyrically. I could not be more excited about this release and I'm blessed to be able to work with a company (Frontiers) that allows me to follow and capture my dreams."
Del Vecchio says: "It all started during the pandemic when Frontiers asked me to write a collaboration song featuring multiple artists from the Frontiers roster. Michael and I got in touch about this and kept in contact ever since. I was surprised when Michael asked me to do an album together, one on which we would capture the melodic side of his singing and writing.
"We still couldn't fully hold back the power and fire that Michael has, but what we accomplished on Return Me To Light is something that really reflects what an album with the two of us really sounds like: melodic, anthemic, and with deep and spiritual lyrical messages.
He adds: "One of the many cool things about working with Michael on this album was him asking me to play all guitars on the album as well. This is something I never do, but he thought I was really capturing the essence of these songs. So, here I am for the first time delivering the guitar parts I had in my head while writing these songs.
"I'm very honored to be teamed up with Michael as we share the same love for great-sounding albums and we are perfectionists who never deliver below 100% and certainly always aim to go beyond our limits.

AWAKE, Spiritual Warfare Re-issue On Arkeyn Steel Records:
Album Release: August 25, 2023
AWAKE was born when Mike Botello (ex - ASSALANT / MILITIA) teamed up with former MILITIA guitarist Jesse Villegas (Jesse also played with METAL MERCHANT from Houston Texas, he passed away back in 2016). This collaboration went from a ‘solo’ project to a group effort with the introduction of drummer Rob Battalion. Together they formed a dynamic, high-quality progressive metal sound with compelling, thought-provoking lyrical content, exploring the overall content of the Christian religion and its message.
Spiritual Warfare was originally released in the fall of 1990 on cassette. After the release, the band went on an 18-month sabbatical and reunited in 1992 with new drummer John Pace (his performance can be heard on the “Awake Hidden Gems” bonus track on this reissue). AWAKE continued to perform around central Texas and eventually departed in 1993.
The Spiritual Warfare release can be described with only a single word: Phenomenal. It captures the talent and the artistic vision of a band that followed a unique path of expression away from the metal stereotypes of the time.
Texas metal fanatics, Christian metal specialists and prog metal nerds, all share a great piece of respect for the Spiritual Warfare album, while metal collectors are still after a copy of the original cassette on Shadow Records. Now everyone can have this masterpiece in this ultimate edition.
All the audio is re-mastered from scratch by Kostas Scandalis at Infinity studios (Thessalonki, Greece). The artwork has been upgraded by Kostas Athanasoglou -based on the original cover which was created by Mike Soliz (MILITIA, WATCHTOWER, OBLIVION KNIGHT etc)-, lots of photos are included together with the complete set of lyrics. Mike Botello himself wrote the liner notes.

SOMBRE HOLIDAY Announce New Album, The Soul’s Blood:
Album Release: November 3, 2023
A multinational act consisting of brothers Terry (lead vocals, guitars, keyboards & songwriting) and Trevor (drummer, lyrics and artwork) Friesen from Canada and California, respectively, SOMBRE HOLIDAY has impressed over the years with its outside the box and inventive approach to the hard music scene- traversing dark and moody musical territory few if any dare to tread. Consider how the group aligns multifarious forms of metal and hard rock to create a sound both melancholic and subdued (sort of like mid-period DELIVERANCE) but also strongly slanted towards a Gothic influenced progressiveness (think SAVIOUR MACHINE). Further blend an equal emphasizing of the intricately woven and doom-like (VENI DOMINE comes to mind) with the richly melodic (somewhat akin to STRYPER) and the SOMBRE HOLIDAY portrait is complete.

“This is the most emotionally intimate SOMBRE HOLIDAY album we’ve created… the music and words invite the listener into deep reflection on the state of relationship with our Creator- a God who has fashioned each human being with a longing in the soul that only He can fill. Our soul comes alive the more intimately we connect with our Creator… The Soul’s Blood thematically dives in deep to what we need the most.
“True to SOMBRE HOLIDAY music, each song on The Soul’s Blood is difficult to isolate from the rest of the album. Many of the musical and lyrical themes reoccur on different parts of the album… in this case, the majority of the wrestling happens in the first half- how surrendered do I actually want to be? Can I trust God with my soul? And the last half of the album, there is a musical and lyrical shift, where more surrender happens, and greater intimacy occurs, giving strength, joy, and a more ‘heavenly’ outlook on life.

SIGNUM REGIS Release New Single, “Daniel’s Prophecy”:
Press Release / Slovakia based melodic power metal band SIGNUM REGIS released a lyric video of the song “Daniel’s Prophecy”, the second single off their upcoming album Undividied.
"Undivided" will be released on CD, limited vinyl editions and digitally on November 17th via Ulterium Records.
Bassist Ronnie König comments on the new single:
"The song 'Daniel's Prophecy' is one of the band's favorite songs. It is mainly up-tempo, but it also goes through a couple of mood and tempo changes and has epic lyrics inspired by the Book of Daniel. The chorus is a really good one. It's one of those that stick with you and you want to sing it with the band. It will become a part of our live shows for sure. We hope you'll enjoy it!"
Undivided was produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, KAMELOT, EVERGREY) and the epic artwork was created by Uwe Jarling (GRAVE DIGGER, MYSTIC PROPHECY). Guests on the album includes guitarists Jimi Cimbala (NO CONTROL) and Daniel J. Fries (AFFECTOR) and vocalist David Åkesson (MOONLIGHT AGONY, QUANTICE, SYMPHONITY).
The songwriting on Undivided is really strong and the songs that ended up on the album were cherry picked from many. Vocalist Chaz Bond Reveals Details Behind New Band, EISEN KRONE:

“If you are a fan of JACOBS DREAM, especially the 10 year era that yours truly was a part of, then I have the announcement for you. As most of you are aware, I had fronted JACOBS DREAM for 10 years. John Berry was the lead guitarist. I recorded three albums with the band. The first one from 2005 was called Drama Of The Ages and released on Metal Blade Records and second from 2008 Dominion Of Darkness. The band decided to go independent and without a label. At that time John and I worked on my third and final record with the band, which was called Beneath The Shadows and released in 2009.
“I left Jacobs dream in 2013. A few years later, John Berry approached me about the idea of doing a side project. The music was originally intended to mirror that of Beneath The Shadows, which mirrored a dark somber hard rock/metal sound. We chose the name BLACK IRON CROWN. We began writing new material, but it was always just John and I. We did pull off a handful of acoustic sets live; however, after a couple of years or so the project was dissolved. That brings us to the present.
“John and I decided to revisit the idea. However, this time around we have chosen to go back to the earlier power metal roots that made JACOBS DREAM famous. So with that being said, we have also chosen a new name, which will be EISEN KRONE, which means iron crown in German.
“We are now a full band and will eventually record and perform live. So let’s get to who is in the band”
“Obviously, we start with long time JACOBS DREAM, guitarist, and cofounder John Berry on guitar and guitar synth. We are also joined by second guitarist Desi Steinbrooke, a very talented lead guitarist from Columbus with a lot of experience- the dual leads between him and John are going to be epic. Rounding out the lineup is bassist Ed Crislip, whom is well rounded as a bassist and musician in general. He is from Dayton Ohio and is also a one time member of my original band BIOGENESIS. That brings us to the drummer Gregory Stidham, another well-rounded musician with a lot of experience. Some of you may know him from the Dayton band WEAPONS OF GOD. We are in the writing process now, so give us some time to get prepared. Keep an eye out for our first live performance.”

Last month, US progressive power metal quintet THEOCRACY announced their signing to Atomic Fire Records, and the new partners aren’t wasting any time in revealing details of the group’s highly anticipated forthcoming studio album. As brilliantly showcased by its stained-glass-window-like artwork by Steven Howard, the offering has been given the name Mosaic. "“Mosaic” is one of my personal favorite Theocracy tracks of all time. At its heart it’s a throwback to the peak of power metal, a galloping and soaring singalong hymn. But it has everything I love about what we do: the melody, the power, the drama, the light and shade, the riffs. Conceptually, the song is about how we can only see the individual scenes of our lives, but lack the perspective to see the overall tapestry those scenes eventually combine to create. The good times, the bad times, the things we wish didn’t happen…they are all pieces that God uses to form whatever we eventually end up becoming. And we can certainly relate to that in our own journey as a band over the last few years. So there’s a little psychology, a lot of spirituality, a little nostalgia, and a healthy dose of wistfulness and wonder. And fittingly, this song takes you on a quite journey in just over five minutes."

Press Release / FINAL AXE debut Beyond Hell’s Gate specializes in profound hooks, speedy riffing, shredding guitars and a full on heavy metal assault. This heavy metal classic was originally recorded in 1989 but never released until 2005 (limited to just 1000 copies!). It was then reissued as a 2010 Collector's Edition on Retroactive Records and featured new artwork, while the music was remixed and partially re-recorded. Retroactive Records and fans of the band are eternally grateful to the amazing Robert Sweet (STRYPER) for providing real drums on this 2010/2023 version (the original features only a drum machine). We asked him to really let lose and to ‘drum like you always wanted to’ with no restrictions , and that's exactly what he did! The result is a world-class heavy metal release with drums by a bona fide superstar!
In addition, there are three tracks included on the Collectors Edition that did not appear on the 2005 release: an Intro track, an Outro track (both instrumental) but the real gem is the Robert sweet drum solo entitled “Area 51”! This is the very first Robert Sweet drum solo (studio recorded) released since the legendary ROXX REGIME demo!
Re-mastered in 2023 by Rob Colwell (Bombworks Sound) and featuring three instrumental bonus tracks, this is the definitive release of this revered classic. Packaged in an 8-page booklet inside of a collector's jewel case, fans are also treated to an historic write up about the band and album by White Throne magazines Keven Crothers! SIGNUM REGIS Announce New Album, Undivided:
Press Release / The melodic power metal band SIGNUM REGIS will release their new album Undivided via Ulterium Records on November 17, 2023. The album will be available on CD, limited vinyl editions and digital.
"Salt of the Earth", the first single from the album, is an uplifting melodic power metal hymn, perfect for fans of bands like HELLOWEEN, STRATOVARIUS, STRYPER and THEOCRACY! The single is available on all digital platforms and you can check out the music video on YouTube below.
Undivided was produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, KAMELOT, EVERGREY) and the epic artwork was created by Uwe Jarling (GRAVE DIGGER, MYSTIC PROPHECY). THEOCRACY Announces New Album, Mosaic:

Press Release / Last week, US progressive power metal quintet THEOCRACY announced their signing to Atomic Fire Records, and the new partners aren’t wasting any time in revealing details of the group’s highly anticipated forthcoming studio album. As brilliantly showcased by its stained-glass-window-like artwork by Steven Howard, the offering has been given the name Mosaic. The ten new hymns were recorded, produced, and mixed by THEOCRACY’s own Matt Smith at Theocracized Studios and Full Moon Studios in Athens, GA, and rounded off by skillful mastering engineers Emily Lazar and Chris Allgood at The Lodge, NY. The lyrics deal with the inevitability of death, and the choice of who or what we’re living for in the short time we get on this earth”.
He offers further detail as it pertains to the musical direction to Mosaic:

AFTERWINTER features the core band that created the music on both of those exceptional BIOGENESIS albums, A Decadence Divine and Black Widow. The band features James Riggs on rhythm guitar, Luke Nealeigh on lead guitar, Sam Nealeigh on keyboards, Dan Nealeigh on bass and Eli Closson rounding out this musical force on drums. If you followed the band back during this line up, you may recall Majenica Nealeigh pounding on the drums early on. Paramnesia is more than an album, it is a full on musical extravaganza and rock opera that tells us the story of the fictional brother and sister Riley and Thomas Stone.
The story of Paramnesia focuses on Detective Riley Stone, a Christian woman from the fictional city of Howeldale, California. The story opens as Riley begins to have strangely vivid nightmares where she finds herself on the scene of several violent murders. Each morning following these visions, she is called to a real murder scene by Police Sergeant Orion to discover the scenes she dreamt played out exactly as she remembers from her dreams.
Each murder is linked by a number, presented as if it is military time, leading Riley to decide the murders are being committed by a serial killer. With the spiritual guidance of her brother Thomas Stone, Riley determines God is giving her these prophetic visions so that she can stop the killer. Join Riley and Thomas as they grapple with themes of deep introspection, self-doubt, questioning faith, questioning purpose, living with mental illness, and the dangers of becoming a false prophet. For as long as I can remember, music has been my passion and my escape.
Two years ago, I could feel new music blossoming in my heart, trying to break free - a calling I couldn't ignore. Despite the chaos of life's demands, I had to answer. I poured my soul into creating The Glory And the Fallen: a symphonic metal album infused with fantastical themes of epic battles, angelic warfare, and overcoming darkness.
Music has always been my reprieve in a noisy world. As a young mom, touring wasn't an option so I found a way to build my music career from home. It was far from glamorous. Late nights composing after the house fell asleep, my days spent home schooling my five kids and fighting through rejections from labels who said I'd never succeed without touring. There were times I wanted to give up. Moments of seeming defeat where the obstacles seemed too vast. But your support kept me going and ignited!
With each album, my fan base grew, and a vision emerged: to create music that transported listeners to other realms, gave them hope in times of struggle, reminding them they weren't alone. Your belief in me and my music made that possible.
For this album, I poured heart and soul into crafting an epic metal experience. Tales of humanity's triumphs and failures. A call to rise up in hard times. A reminder of the light that is all around us.

The 12 tracks weave symphonic metal with Celtic, folk, and world music influences for a sound unlike anything I’ve created before. Each song was born from visions that came to life in my studio- otherworldly times and places I felt called to explore. I hope this music transports you to those realms as it did for me in creating it.
In addition to these 12 tracks, this Kickstarter campaign will feature an additional instrumental version of this album PLUS an additional album of multiple tracks that have been specially arranged for an ambient/non-metal version. We didn’t simply mute guitars & drums; we actually created brand new arrangements for each of the songs so they flow beautifully and in a new fresh way. On the production/orchestration side for these non-metal versions, Oliver Philipps said, "In several cases, this was more work than the original song!"

“Although I’ve fulfilled my dreams of music and have pursued and met most of my artistic goals, being in a band is not always glamorous. It’s a constant up and down, high and low roller coaster ride of bittersweet give and take.
“Many people believe that music is an easy life, yet the reality is that it’s a hard life and often enough, a very lonely one at that. You wind up with many acquaintances yet with very few friends and most importantly - people you can really trust. You sacrifice time with family and friends to keep your calling, your dream alive.
“Then there’s the undying pressure of having to deliver. Even when you can’t. It’s a mental tug of war, day in and day out to have to rise to the occasion when you feel as though you can’t rise at all. It can be mentally, spiritually & physically draining & exhausting.
“I often compare being in a touring band as being part of the circus. We travel from town to town, set up, tear down and move on. We go around the world yet many times we don’t really get to “see” or experience the world. It becomes a blur and before you know it, you blink and 60 years are gone.
“Having said all that, I would not change a single thing. I’ve stood on stage after stage, in town after town and I’ve been able to make people sing and make people smile. To know that I’ve somehow managed to encourage and inspire so many people throughout the years makes all of the negatives positives. I’m a blessed man and I thank you and God for every single moment.”

2 - The new band that me & Alessandro.Del.Vecchio started is called SoleDriver. The album is complete and we’re shooting two music videos at the end of August. The album will be released this year. It’s an amazing album that Ale and myself are very proud of.I can’t wait for you all to hear it!
3 - The new Stryper acoustic album is coming! It’s complete and we’re finally ready to release it!
4 - My inspirational album is finally going to be released worldwide. Stay tuned as I’m certain you will love this album! It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and finally it has become reality. Stay tuned.
5 - I start recording vocals for the 2nd Sun Bomb album in October. It will be released next year as well. I’ve heard all the music and Tracii Guns did a killer job!! Wait till you hear it.
6 - The music is complete on another project that was started a few years back with CJ Grimmark (Narnia)- once I can schedule writing lyrics and tracking vocals, that album/project will become reality as well. Absolutely stellar.
7 - Stryper will be recording a new album early next year. I’ll begin writing the music for that album in November/December of this year.

Beyond Belief was huge, the band's most successful release ever, peaking at No. 1 on the Christian charts and certified Gold by the RIAA. The radio single "Love" shot to the top of the charts and stayed there, becoming Christian radio's biggest hit of that year.
It won the band its first Grammy, in the newly created Best Rock/Contemporary Gospel Album category, as well as Dove awards for Rock Album of the Year, Rock Recorded Song of the Year for the title track, and Recorded Music Packaging of the Year. More historically, the Gospel Music Association for the first time honored a rock band as Group of the Year, as Petra beat contemporary artists in the competition.
The band was at the peak of its popularity, playing to sold-out arenas of fans on yet another nationwide tour. In CCM Magazine's year-end Reader's Choice Awards, the band swept to first place in multiple categories and garnered many votes for pop/rock artist of the year.
The success of Petra Praise opened the door for even greater success than PETRA had seen previously. The Christian rock scene had exploded, and the critics of the past decade had largely been silenced. The band went back to the studio to record a hard-hitting album that would be accompanied by a concept movie, in which the characters interact with the band between music videos.
Lyrically, the album focused on the concept of faith implied by the album's title, Beyond Belief, with radio singles entitled "Creed," "Love," and "Prayer," as well as the title track and "I Am on the Rock." Musically, the band embraced a hard rock sound reminiscent of DEF LEPPARD, as described by CCM Magazine: "Petra has certainly moved more and more toward a big, arena rock sound in the past few years, and Beyond Belief is, if not completely Kansas-inspired, certainly on par with some of the best arena rock music around." The band also, for the first time, drew from a handful of local non-accredited artists during the album's recording.

The song is called “In The Fires” and is based on the Biblical account of three righteous men of pure faith undergoing the torment of being cast into a furnace by a tyrant they would not bow down to.
